Jake Gyllenhaal joked about a time he fell in love at first sight when he stopped by The Daily Show to chat with Jon Stewart yesterday. The host also tried to set Jake up with a lovely lady in the audience, but that was nothing compared to this morning in the romance department. Jake was at Regis and Kelly when Carrie Ann Inaba's boyfriend popped the question!
Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, and it's important to be comfortable in one's own skin, but perhaps Voltaire said it best when he proclaimed, "Beauty pleases the eyes only; sweetness of disposition charms the soul ." And then there's Peter's Almanac's light-hearted take on the topic: "Always remember that true beauty comes from within — from within bottles, jars, compacts, and tubes." So does beauty come from within? If you'd ask these 10 stars, they'd think so.
Do you ever feel like some people always take amazing photos, but you're the one who's looking either dazed, awkward, or a little of both? As one of the judges of Dancing With the Stars, Carrie Ann Inaba has walked her fair share of red carpets, and along the way she's mastered the art of looking amazing in photos. So when I asked her how she does it, she replied, "You have to bevel! 'Bevel, girl, bevel.' That's what we say in the dance world." But what is beveling, anyway, and how can we all look a little less dorky in our Facebook self-portraits? To find out Carrie Ann's tips on not photobombing it the next time you say cheese, just keep reading.
Last week Carrie Ann Inaba held a holiday party in LA, but before she started to get ready at the hotel, she took a few minutes to chat with me about how to look your best during this hectic season. "It's been quite an intense year, as you saw with Dancing With the Stars," she said. "We had an incredible season. It's a nice way to wrap up the year, say thanks to all my friends and family, and maybe welcome the new year a little early." So to see Carrie's tips on getting your shimmer on, what false lashes she thinks are the best, and more, just just reading.
Anderson Cooper was the man of the evening on Saturday as he hosted the annual CNN Heroes Awards. The ceremony honored ten individuals who go above and beyond with their contribution to the world, and each was introduced to the crowd by a celebrity guest. Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, and Eva Mendes were a few of the ladies on hand to do the honors, while Carrie Underwood performed. The evening's biggest award, CNN's Hero of the Year, went to Efren Peñaflorida because of his efforts to bring education to underprivileged children in the Philippines. Kate and Nicole took the evening off from promoting Nine, though they were both out again last night for the American Music Awards. The ladies were joined by other actors like Neil Patrick Harris and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and we'll be able to see the whole show when it airs Thanksgiving evening.
