Little by little, Lady Gaga is revealing more about her new perfume — and revealing more of herself in the process. This afternoon, Gaga tweeted a preview of the campaign for Fame:

i won't lie I'm a bit nervous. its been a while since i've shared some work with you. But i'm so proud of Steven+I, we really did not sleep!

Shot by Steven Klein, who directed Gaga's "Alejandro" video in 2010, the ad leans darker than many fragrance campaigns. It's a fitting move for Fame, whose juice is black in the bottle but turns clear when sprayed. And for Lady Gaga, it's just a teaser for the bigger campaign to come.

Good news for celebrity fragrance fans: Katy Perry is launching a second scent this November, and she's taking to Twitter to tease the heck out of it. The forthcoming scent will be an extension of Katy's first fragrance, Purr, which debuted last year to astounding success, and according to WWD, it will be sold exclusively at Nordstrom stores and on Nordstrom.com. Katy crafted the scent while on her California Dreams tour, but there's no word yet on whether it will include hints of sea salt, beach sand, or sunscreen. Wondering what the name will be? Starting next week, you can tweet your prediction to Katy and be entered to win the new fragrance, or even a chance to meet the singer at a launch event in December. In February news broke out that Dita Von Teese would be launching her first perfume. And while she has yet to reveal the name of the scent, we do know what the juice will not include. Dita recently revealed, "There's no fruity vanilla bullsh*t . . . A lot of celebrity fragrances are fruit, vanilla, and I wanted something for grown-up girls."

Gourmand-type scents aren't exactly my favorite either; give me anything that smells like cake or cookies, and I'll instantly feel ill. What about you? What types of fragrances and notes do you tend to avoid?

He shattered sales records with his Nicole by OPI nail polish line, so it's no surprise that Justin Bieber is breaking records for his first prestige fragrance launch, Someday. In fact, Someday has grossed more than $3 million in sales at Macy's in just under three weeks, which is prompting industry experts to call it the most successful celebrity scent launch ever.

"If it sustains this momentum, it will become the number-one-selling fragrance of 2011," Karen Grant of market research firm The NPD Group told WWD. And with a commercial featuring Justin in a gravity-free NASA training jet set to debut on Black Friday, one can only imagine what kinds of sales the fruity gourmand scent will net for the holiday season. She's a multiple Grammy winner, has a deal with CoverGirl, and even has a few acting roles under her belt. So it makes sense that Taylor Swift is now about to launch her first celebrity fragrance: Wonderstruck ($50 to $60).

"I wrote the lyric, 'I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home,' for the song 'Enchanted' about the first time you meet someone," Taylor said in a statement, adding, "It's exciting to think that Wonderstruck will play a role in creating some of those memories."

The gourmand scent is meant to have a modern feel that's warm and sensual, containing a vanilla note that runs throughout. Wonderstruck also includes top notes of green tea, freesia, apple blossom, dewberry, and raspberry; middle notes of honeysuckle, hibiscus, and Hawaiian blanket; and bottom notes of peach, musk, and sandalwood. In news of things both unbearably cute and beauty related, Gwen Stefani continues to roll out increasingly adorable, quirky "dolls" in her Harajuku Lovers fragrance collection. The latest limited-edition scent is Super G, which will fly into stores in August. I love all her little superheroine details, from the tie on her cape to the heart cutouts on her mask.

According to the Harajuku Lovers Facebook page, Super G is "a modern-day superhero fighting to bring super kawaii to you all the time." So what does super smell like? Very, very fruity and tropical, with notes that include pineapple, mandarin orange, freesia, banana, vanilla, and raspberry. (Sounds like a smoothie to me.) "There are different moods that, as a fragrance creator, you can travel to," Heidi told WWD. "But for my first one, I wanted what I felt my staple would be. I wanted it to be sensual and feminine, but still luxurious and expensive-smelling — because I think there are so many perfumes out there that smell cheap and too sweet," she added.

The bottle for Shine is structured to look like a circular wavy pattern, and the ad is similarly beachy with sand splashing down in the backdrop. Of the ad, Heidi says she loves the fact it's not too retouched. "My snaggletooth is coming out a little bit," she explained. (Say what?)
