Mmmm . . . there's nothing dabbing the enticing smell of Pop-Tarts?! behind your ears and on your wrists to drive the guys wild. According to WWD, you'll soon be able to do just that — in fragrance form, of course.

It should come as no surprise that Demeter is behind this endeavor. They've made scents for Play-Doh and Necco Sweethearts before (and the latter isn't so bad). Starting in 2009, a few new fragrances will be added to the collection: Hershey’s Kisses Special Dark, Jolly Rancher Green Apple, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Aromas based on Pop-Tart scents could be in the works as well. My sweet tooth is throbbing.

You can find these delectable fragrances ($20) in chain stores, and they'd make a fun gift for someone who's obsessed with candy. Aside from the novelty factor, though, will you wear them?

Okay, this is pretty cute. To tie in with Valentine's Day, Demeter has launched three new scents, all based on Sweethearts candy. The collection is a little kitschy, but because these candies remind me of grade-school Valentine's parties, it's also something I'd be interested in smelling.

You might imagine these scents to be sugary sweet, but instead, they're florals. I feel like Demeter's fragrances are hit-or-miss, but these sound promising.

Love Me is a light, fruity floral with notes of orange, lemon, peach, white rose, ylang ylang, and a bit of musk and vanilla.

Call Me is sweet and citrusy, with notes of lemon zest, jasmine, honeysuckle, water lotus and white rose.

Be My Valentine features notes of peach skin, strawberry leaf, caramelized sugar and ylang ylang.

These scents are available as lotions and shower gels ($11.50–$14.50) along with the regular cologne sprays ($20–$39.50). But since you can order a 0.5 ounce mini-splash for just $5, I think that's the way to start.

Demeter's fragrances are original and clever, and the company always comes up with a simple scent I hadn't imagined as a wearable fragrance. The question is, should they? For every amazing scent such as Vanilla Ice Cream, there's a stinker like Play-Doh. Unfortunately, I have to count Crayon in the latter category.

I won't bore you with purple prose about how Crayon smells, because if you've ever smelled Crayola, you know exactly what this fragrance is like. To Demeter's credit, they've bottled the essence of crayons so precisely that one whiff takes me back to preschool. (It really is a Proustian thing, especially since, well, toddlers are prone to gnawing on crayons.) But as spot-on as the scent is, I can't think of a single occasion when wearing this would be up my alley. If you've been yearning to smell of Burnt Sienna or Brick Red, though, it's perfect for yours.

Raise your hand if you were once an aspiring hairstylist who played with the Play-Doh Fuzzy Pumper Beauty Salon. I spent countless hours creating hairstyles with that thing! The reason I ask is that today is National Play-Doh Day, a silly but sentimental "holiday" that's a perfect reason to mention one of Demeter's oddest scents.

Known for its unusual fragrances, Demeter released a Play-Doh scent last year. It's a limited-edition product, but it's still easy to find—apparently, people aren't overly eager to smell like their favorite childhood toy. But for as little as $5, you can own a cologne whose smell takes you way back. Would I wear it? Probably not, but I've got half a mind to go pick up some Play-Doh this weekend... or maybe I'll just try YumSugar's DIY recipe.

Yeesh, I am really hoping that this Sex On The Beach Cologne Spray by Demeter smells more like the cocktail than the actual scent of sex! What a funny name for a fragrance, although I must say, it fits in just dandy with beach week.

And as it turns out, we're good to go: The scent is R-rated, but only because there's vodka in it! It actually sounds quite refreshing for the heat of the summer—even good enough to drink!

Its notes are reminiscent of vodka, unsweetened pineapple juice, a little bit of cranberry juice and a smidgen of raspberry and melon liquors. It is available in several different sizes here ranging from .5 oz for $10 to 4 oz for $40. Not too bad for a little spritz of eau de sexy!

The teen magazines I used to read in middle school always suggested that vanilla extract could be worn as a cheap, delicious-smelling perfume. But whenever I dabbed the foodstuff on my wrists like the magazines suggested, I just smelled like a cake in progress.

I love vanilla, though, so ever since I was a teen, I've been on the hunt for a natural, wearable vanilla fragrance. Here are a few I've found; if you have other favorites, please share!

Overall, I think Demeter did a great job on this collection, creating wacky scents that translate into surprisingly wearable perfumes.

I've always admired Demeter Fragrance Library, the perfumer best known for bottling surprisingly good-smelling scents like Gin & Tonic, Laundromat, and Dirt. Now, Demeter has partnered with another company known for its rather wacky varieties: Jelly Belly.
