Dita Von Teese Perfume

In February news broke out that Dita Von Teese would be launching her first perfume. And while she has yet to reveal the name of the scent, we do know what the juice will not include. Dita recently revealed, "There's no fruity vanilla bullsh*t . . . A lot of celebrity fragrances are fruit, vanilla, and I wanted something for grown-up girls."

Gourmand-type scents aren't exactly my favorite either; give me anything that smells like cake or cookies, and I'll instantly feel ill. What about you? What types of fragrances and notes do you tend to avoid?

The rumors seem to be true: the glamorous Dita Von Teese is developing her own fragrance. While working in the French countryside with her perfumers, she tweeted about the process. Don't expect a fruity floral from the burlesque star, who counts Quelques Fleurs and Dior's Passage No. 4 as favorites. "No fruit, no vanilla, no candy," she insists. "Velvet sensuality with a dash of vulgarity! I want to evoke passion with fragrance: intense love/lust and distaste/fear rather than merely popular acceptance." No word on an official launch date, but if we had to guess, we'd predict late Fall or early 2012.

Dita Von Teese has been known to tweet her beauty secrets a time or two, and soon she'll be sharing even more about her look, as she's currently working on a beauty book. Dita, who travels sans a hair and makeup team, wants the forthcoming step-by-step guide to be all about getting a DIY message out there. "I don't go to the salon when I need to color my hair, I pull out my box of hair dye. I want women to understand that you don't have to have the glam squad to put you together," she told WWD. But Dita's not rushing through the book-making process, instead choosing to take her time on getting it right.
