Choosing the Right Eyebrow Product . . . Complete With Chart!

Grooming the brows is one of the easiest ways to bring your whole beauty look together.

Grooming the brows is one of the easiest ways to bring your whole beauty look together. In fact, if I had to pick five essential beauty products, they'd include: concealer, mascara, blush, gloss, and a brow powder or pencil. Not only does accentuating the brows give the face a lifted appearance, but it adds balance by providing shape and youthful volume. Over the next few days, I'll be giving you eyebrow tips, from selecting the right product for your needs to choosing the right shade to little tricks you can use to make brow shaping all the more easy. Let's kick it off with choosing the right product. Get my complete chart when you read more.

New Product Alert: Laura Geller Long-Lasting Color Brow Marker

Laura Geller's new eye brow-enhancing product is called Long-Lasting Color Brow Marker ($19.97).

Laura Geller's new eye brow-enhancing product is called Long-Lasting Color Brow Marker ($19.97). Not only do I love the fact that this is another easy-to-apply, fool-proof makeup pen, but this brow fixer-upper is different from some of the others on the market because once it dries, it won't smudge or budge throughout the day.

This is a great solution for those of you who've overplucked and need a hand filling in thin or bare spots. The pen has a soft tip and from what I understand, the result is a natural, not overdrawn look. In addition, for every product that is sold, Laura Geller will donate $1 to Joan's Legacy, a lung-cancer research foundation.

To use it, shake the pen and apply a light layer to the natural shape of your brows. Wait about 20 seconds for it to dry, or use the time to blend the color. If it looks light, add another layer for a darker effect. It's available in taupe and brown; to read about which color is right for you, read more

New Product Alert: Trish McEvoy Brow Builder

New from Trish McEvoy is Brow Builder ($32).

New from Trish McEvoy is Brow Builder ($32). This makeup pen was created to help give thin or sparse brows a little bit more life. Simply twist the bottom of the pen and wait for the fibrous nylon gel to make it way through the chamber.

Apply the comb-tipped applicator to your brows and fill them in with small strokes to ensure the color gets distributed evenly. If you fancy fuller eyebrows, all you have to do is extend your strokes slightly outside of your natural hair line.

But please use a gentle hand — you wouldn't want to wind up looking over-drawn, fake and severe! Brow Builder is available in either light or dark shades to match most hair colors, but if you are a redhead, I suggest blending in a bit of auburn eyeshadow for a more natural look.
