The Great Gatsby's NYC premiere drew out glamour of the A-list variety last week, but it doesn't stop there. The film's special pre-Met Ball screening proved another glamorous evening in NYC, with the style crowd in full attendance. Carey Mulligan opted for a menswear-inspired look in a Lanvin tuxedo jacket and trousers, while Katy Perry showcased her signature style in a crop top and full skirt, finished with a floral headpiece. Meanwhile, the fashion pack made their mark with Solange Knowles in a striped, peplum-trimmed dress and dapper looks from Brad Goreski and Prabal Gurung. Carey and Isla Have a Roaring Gatsby Bash With Katy

Katy Perry got in the roaring '20s spirit when she attended a cocktail reception for The Great Gatsby and Prada in NYC last night.

Katy Perry got in the roaring '20s spirit when she attended a cocktail reception for The Great Gatsby and Prada in NYC last night. She wore a purple Prada frock as she mingled with the film's stars Isla Fisher and Carey Mulligan, as well as her fellow musician Florence Welch. The fete was to celebrate an exhibition of the dresses that Miuccia Prada and costume designer Catherine Martin created for the upcoming film. The fashionable stars were joined by the film's director, Baz Luhrmann, who is married to Catherine, as well as Maggie Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, who attended the celebration with his wife, and Miuccia herself.

Carey recently talked to Harper's Bazaar about wearing Prada-designed frocks for the project, noting that she's "always loved their clothes." She said, "They were the first designer house that ever lent me anything; I wore Prada to the Oscars. The people who work there are so lovely and really just non-scary fashion people." If you want to learn more about the film ahead of its May 10 release, be sure to check out the five things we learned from the Great Gatsby press conference with Carey, Tobey, Leonardo DiCaprio, and more!

Steal the Style: Florence Welch's New Home

Florence Welch's onstage style is well documented, but until recently, she hadn't had the opportunity to apply it to a domestic setting.

Florence Welch's onstage style is well documented, but until recently, she hadn't had the opportunity to apply it to a domestic setting. "I went from singing at the Met ball to coming home and sleeping on a mattress in my mom's living room," she explained in this month's issue of Vogue. Lucky for us, the 26-year-old songstress finally has her own digs. A wonderful reflection of her high priestess vagabond style, Florence's South London apartment is full of pattern, color, tapestries, and plenty of art. Check out this sneak peek and our tips on how to get the look after the break.

Florence relaxes at home amid a pile of mismatched pillows. The Turkish rug and colorful ikat curtain are fantastic foils for the prim, striped, and very English sofa.

It's a pattern explosion! Stripes, leopard, paisley, and ikat all work in harmony in the avian-themed sitting room — a wonderful reminder that more really can be more.

Steal the Style

  • Tamara de Lempicka self-portrait ($25): Tamara de Lempicka's elegant self-portrait graces Florence Welch's sitting-room wall.
  • Vintage avian print ($12): A bird-of-paradise print encapsulates avian flair.
  • Astrid chair ($1,598): This bright yellow linen-covered chair looks as though it belongs in an English cottage.
  • Cecil Beaton book ($250): A book documenting famed photographer Cecil Beaton's scrapbooks and sources of inspiration is a good addition to any bookcase, even if it's just for looks.
  • Purple lampshade ($10): At this price, it's a shame not to make bold lampshade color choices.
  • Rug (inquire for price): An antique Persian rug is right at home in every room in the house.
  • Ikat pillow ($125): Made from silk and cotton, this bolster is great when paired with everything from leopard to florals..
  • Enticing as Spring paint (prices vary): This pretty blue from Mythic paint is feminine without being too sweet and is the perfect foil for artwork.

Solange chose a beaded emerald gown with structured cap sleeves and a thigh-high slit, finished with contrasting neon spiked Christian Louboutin pumps. Katy wore a mint-colored Gucci gown with a decolletage-revealing keyhole and bejeweled neckline, while Florence sparkled in an emerald-green custom-made Givenchy with a side slit and studs. Florence Welch Wears Jewelry in Her Hair (and Pulls It Off)

Florence Welch always nails the boho-chic look, thanks to her own elements of style.

Florence Welch always nails the boho-chic look, thanks to her own elements of style. She arrived at this weekend's LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala with a milkmaid braid accented with some hair jewelry that elevated her hairstyle. We love this gold metal chain ($19), but you can also create a similar look with a long chain necklace or by combining similar necklaces to get the desired length. Just wrap it around your head or weave it into your hair, then secure it with pins. Add some drop earrings for a pretty regal look that goes beyond a standard headband.
