Whether you want to get a head start on planning the season's gatherings or just want to feast your eyes on some holiday inspiration, what better way to start than with your very own virtual holiday pinboard? Just in time, we're hosting a Pinterest contest — and with a little luck, you might even find yourself celebrating with $1,500 and a new Windows Phone 8!

See the instructions below on how to build out a Pinterest board and show us what dishes you'd love put on the table at your next Wintertime fête. Our editors will then select their favorite board and give out a $1,500 gift card (and a new Windows Phone 8 along with it) to make your party a reality.

How to enter:

Follow YumSugar on Pinterest.
Build a Pinterest board titled "Windows Phone Holiday Recipes."
Build out a board on Pinterest with at least five inspirational holiday recipes.
Hashtag each of your pins with #YumHolidayRecipes.
Submit your name and email, and include a link to your "Windows Phone Holiday Recipes" board to the contest page here.

Over the years, we've seen some pretty memorable Halloween-themed episodes on shows that paid homage to the holiday every year, like Home Improvement or just one-off shows on series like Parks and Recreation. Take a trip down memory lane to see some of our favorite characters in costumes from this year and years past.

We're hosting a Pinterest contest giving you a chance to show us what IKEA products you would customize and what inspiration you would use to style it —think colorblocking, fabric swatches, metallics, wallpapers . . . the sky's the limit!

See the instructions below on how to build out a Pinterest board and show us how you would complete your project and style a new space in the place you call home. Our editors will then select their favorite board and give out a $500 gift card to IKEA to make those projects happen.

To Enter:
1. Follow CasaSugar on Pinterest
2. Create a Pinterest Board titled "Styled By" and build out your inspiration board
3. Make sure you pin one or more products from IKEA and design materials from CasaSugar that will help complete your project (minimum 20 pins, please)
4. Hashtag each of your pins with #styledby
5. Share the URL link to your "Styled By" board in the comments below

I had a chance to sit down with Fray guitarists Joe King and Dave Welsh in Vegas on Monday before the FOX Billboard Music Awards, where the charming boys from Denver performed the very catchy "How to Save a Life." The song is really everywhere these days, including the soundtracks of both "Scrubs" and "Grey's Anatomy," leading the guys to joke that "apparently the nurses of America love us." The Fray is floored by how much traction the track has gotten through nontraditional venues like MySpace, iTunes, and, of course, TV soundtracks.

The musicians said that they look forward to next year, when they can start working on a new album. Because while they're happy to play "How to Save a Life" as long as the fans want it, they wouldn't mind adding a few more songs to their repertoire. But if you're a fan of Coldplay and Keane, this piano-driven album is very much worth checking out, so be sure to throw your hat into the ring for our giveaway. The contest runs for two weeks.
