Get Jennifer Lopez's Retro Love and Glamour Look

For Jennifer Lopez's look for her upcoming fragrance (her 16th scent!), Love & Glamour, celebrity stylist Oribe gave the star some serious Rita Hayworth-inspired pin curls.

For Jennifer Lopez's look for her upcoming fragrance (her 16th scent!), Love & Glamour, celebrity stylist Oribe gave the star some serious Rita Hayworth-inspired pin curls. And if you're thinking about trying out a retro style for a fun night out — or even for Halloween — it's easy to do.

Start by curling the hair with a one- to one-and-a-half-inch barrel curling iron. Next, place the hair in pin curls, allowing them to set for around an hour. Brush out and finish with a spritz of shine-enhancing product, like Oribe Superfine Hairspray ($34).

Watch out for the scent ($49 to $58), which will include notes of Italian mandarin, water lily, and sandalwood, to launch next month at Macy's.

Jennifer and Halle Announce Yet More Fragrances

More news from the world of celebrity fragrance: both Jennifer Lopez (who's on her 16th perfume now, astoundingly) and Halle Berry will be adding to their stable of scents this year.

More news from the world of celebrity fragrance: both Jennifer Lopez (who's on her 16th perfume now, astoundingly) and Halle Berry will be adding to their stable of scents this year. Jennifer's new effort, Love and Glamour, is the result of her self-described perfectionism.
She tells WWD
:

"It's always not signature enough. I go back and say things like, ‘Can we push the sandalwood a little bit more, can we make a tiny bit more sexy?’ To translate that into actual chemistry is a difficult thing. Then they go back and say, ‘What does she mean by sexy?’ And I’m like, ‘You know if you [take] that little piece that smells a little bit like wood but has a little bit of musk? But I just want you to add a little bit of sweetness. Can you do that for me?’ And then I think we are in the right direction. And then they come with one or two variations and I say, ‘No, that’s not it.’ It’s a long process."

Love and Glamour will debut at Macy's in October. As for Halle? To see her revealing ad campaign, just keep reading.

Jennifer Lopez and Letterman Guzzle Her New Perfume

And it did not look pleasant.

And it did not look pleasant. Jennifer went on Letterman a couple nights back to talk up her new movie, The Back-Up Plan, and while she was there they also discussed her latest scent, Blue Glow. Jennifer, who's on her umpteenth fragrance right now, did a really good job of explaining what a flanker is. Then, in a moment of what was surely madness, Dave decided he would taste the stuff, and Jennifer just kind of shrugged and joined in. Big mistake. The results are just so hilarious:

Jennifer Lopez Wants You to Glow Even More

Despite the fact that she's shuttered her clothing line, this October Jennifer Lopez is launching another version of Glow, the best-selling perfume that her marketing people call the "jewel of the Lopez lineup."

Despite the fact that she's shuttered her clothing line, this October Jennifer Lopez is launching another version of Glow, the best-selling perfume that her marketing people call the "jewel of the Lopez lineup." The new scent, called My Glow ($49.50), aims to capture the love of a mother for her child.

So what does maternal affection smell like? Not what you might expect. WWD reports that My Glow has lavender, water lily, and freesia top notes; rose, peony and Casablanca Lily midnotes; and a body with lots of musk and sandalwood. As for the bottle, the cap is a pair of cherubs inspired by a soap Jennifer has in her nursery. (It also bears a striking resemblance to L'Air du Temps.) Will this be the mother of all fragrances for la Lopez? In a few months, we'll find out.

Reader Review of the Day: J.Lo Glow Eau de Toilette Spray For Women

It's been a while since I've really thought about J.Lo Glow ($50), until reader MalibuMands brought it back into my mind on the Product Reviews website.

It's been a while since I've really thought about J.Lo Glow ($50), until reader MalibuMands brought it back into my mind on the Product Reviews website. Yeah, it's been around for a while, but is it still relevant? Find out why MalibuMands gave Jennifer Lopez's premiere fragrance a stellar review below:

Glow is different from all of the other celebrity fragrances. In fact, I think it’s different to every other scent out there. I’m not sure how to describe Glow, other then fresh and clean. I don’t pick up on the individual notes, and I just get the overall impression of an energetic burst and soap. It’s great for everyday wear, as it has great staying power. On the down side, you must spray lightly. I’ve been too heavy handed a few times and had migraines as a result. The bottle is striking; it has the curves of a woman’s body, and a (faux) jewel-encrusted J.Lo logo hung round the neck — bling for your dressing table.

Jennifer Lopez vs. Sean Combs: A Fragrant Battle of the Exes

Let the showdown begin!

Let the showdown begin! Sean Combs and Jennifer Lopez have each released fragrances in the past year: Jennifer's Deseo ($46–$56) and Diddy's Unforgivable Woman ($55–$75). It's not the first foray into the fragrance world for either, but with Deseo expected to make millions in its first year alone, and P. Diddy's nomination for a CEW award, these ex-lovahs both have a lot at stake. But whose scent is better? For a side-by-side comparison, read more

Coming Soon: Deseo by Jennifer Lopez

Hola, amigas. There's some exciting news from Jennifer Lopez.

Hola, amigas. There's some exciting news from Jennifer Lopez. She's just announced that she's expecting... to launch her next fragrance, Deseo, in February 2008. Unlike her earlier scents, Deseo directly honors Lopez's Latina heritage, which I think is cool. In an interview with Women's Wear Daily, she said:

  • On building on her Latina roots:"I have a lot of synergy happening in my life right now that is taking me back to my roots and to everything that I'm about and how I was raised. This is what I really find my heart is into. It's the first time I have decided to use a Spanish word for one of our fragrances. We really look at where I am at in my life and what is important to me at that time. But the one thing that we have always concentrated on from the beginning is to be as truthful as we can."

Inside the World of Celebrity Scents

Eighty-four percent of you say you're sick of celebrity fragrances, but you must be anomalies—because celeb perfumes are selling like crazy.

Eighty-four percent of you say you're sick of celebrity fragrances, but you must be anomalies—because celeb perfumes are selling like crazy. Some of the interesting bits from the story:

  • There's big bucks in this business. Euromonitor International, a Chicago-based market research firm, reports that worldwide sales of the top seven celebrity scent lines—just the top seven!—totaled $353.6 million last year.
  • Diddy's sitting pretty. A lot of you find his Unforgivable ads cheesy, but the scent is doing just fine. Last year, it did $74.9 million in sales.
  • Inside the contract: Fragrance companies such as Coty and Elizabeth Arden produce and develop the fragrance, then the star's name goes on the bottle. Contract details are kept private, but the industry standard is to give the celeb 5–10% of sales, with a possible signing bonus.
  • Jennifer Lopez has made many cents out of scents. Forbes writes: "In 2006, Lopez's net worth was about $110 million, according to Forbes' list of the 20 richest women in entertainment—but her last CD was a flop, as were her last several movies. Sales of her fragrances, including Glow and Live Luxe, totaled $77 million in 2006."

What I'd really like to know—and what the story doesn't reveal, unfortunately—is the extent to which celebrities are involved in creating their scents. I've heard that Hilary Duff had a lot of input and feedback on hers, and I can see Gwen Stefani knowing what she wanted for L. Somehow, though, I'm not convinced that Britney Spears was actively involved in making Believe—at least, not with all of her personal drama this year.
