This Earth Day, as a part of her Model Citizen campaign, Josie Maran is working with Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder to build an animal sanctuary. And of course there are special revamped products from her beauty line involved, too. Ian designed a limited-edition label for top sellers from Josie's collection, including Pure Argan Oil With Radiance ($48), Argan Oil Hair Serum With Radiance ($30), and the Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter With Radiance ($35).

In addition to the new packaging, the products have gotten a new Honey Chamomile Lavender scent. Ten percent of each product purchase will go to the Ian Somerhalder Foundation to help shelter abused animals. Oh, and there is an adorable campaign image of Ian cuddling puppies. Swoon!

No More Frizz! Glossy, Shiny Hair in 4 Steps

Attaining the lustrous hair you see on shampoo commercials is possible.

Attaining the lustrous hair you see on shampoo commercials is possible. Clarifying once a week; using shampoo and conditioner with hydrating ingredients like protein, avocado oil, or shea butter; and applying a once-a-week treatment can all help strengthen and smooth your hair. A shine spray never hurt anyone either. On Kirbie: Bebe dress.

What We're Sweet On: Argan For Your Face

Argan oil has long been touted for the shine-enhancing and hydrating properties it provides to hair.

Argan oil has long been touted for the shine-enhancing and hydrating properties it provides to hair. But when it comes to skin, this potent beauty ingredient works just as impressively. Josie Maran's Argan Exfoliating Powder ($35) is a gentle exfoliant that not only buffs away dead skin cells, but also hydrates and smooths your complexion, leaving a healthy glow behind. To use, add a few shakes to your hand and mix in some water to form a creamy paste. It's gentle enough to apply daily for those with normal skin, while people with more sensitivity should use it less. Whatever your skin type — or disposition — it's guaranteed to make you feel totally renewed.

What We're Sweet On: Dewy Blush You'll Wear All Year Round

We may be in the dog days of Summer, but Fall makeup is on the horizon.

We may be in the dog days of Summer, but Fall makeup is on the horizon. While that typically means darker colors and matte textures, Josie Maran's Argan Color Stick ($22), found as part of QVC's Pure & Simple 4-piece Argan Skincare Ritual ($66, originally $75) is the perfect product to take you into the cooler season ahead.

Dewy but not shiny, this creamy stick allows you to swipe on highly pigmented color with ease. You'll love how sheer and natural-looking it is as a blush, but that it can be layered to create more intense effects. It doesn't pool or clump, either. So you'll get that lit-from-within glow sans the greasiness. Besides, it smells like a dream, hydrates the complexion, and can even be dabbed onto the lips. How's that for a transition?

In honor of Earth Month, Josie Maran (pictured left) is rereleasing her eponymous brand's cult favorite argan oil with an added charitable element. The beauty entrepreneur even recruited some of her model pals, Petra Nemcova (pictured right) and Angela Lindvall, to design the limited-edition bottles ($52 each) for the line's Model Citizen campaign. Available at Sephora, through QVC, or on Josie's site from now to mid-Summer, 10 percent of the profits from the sale of the oils will benefit the Happy Hearts Fund (through Petra's design), Healthy Child Healthy World (through Angela), and Women For Women International (through Josie).

Additionally, Josie and Petra are sharing their tips for going "chicological" (that's chic, high-performing, and ecological) with us. For starters, "I think using kinder, gentler, healthier ingredients overall — especially if you're wearing makeup every day — makes a huge impact on the beauty of your skin," explains Josie. Josie Maran on the Beauty Lessons She'll Pass Along

We are excited to bring you another post by model, entrepreneur, and guest blogger Josie Maran!

We are excited to bring you another post by model, entrepreneur, and guest blogger Josie Maran! This week, she's talking about the beauty lessons she hopes to pass along. Take it away, Josie:

One of my biggest beauty role models is my mom, so I can only hope that my daughter, Rumi Joon, one day looks at me the same way. With over 17 years in the modeling industry, I’ve obviously spent a lot of time in the makeup chair. But what I’ve learned is that real beauty comes from within, and that’s something I hope Rumi comes to understand as she grows older. I want her to feel comfortable in her own skin, and to not be afraid to wear bold colors, try new products, and define her own style.
