For the film Black Swan, makeup department head Margie Durand and makeup designer Judy Chin definitely had their work cut out for them. Along with conceptualizing dramatic stage makeup looks, they had to keep the dancers' makeup sweat- and smudge-resistant throughout shooting the film.
"The look was inspired by the story, and by the director, Darren Aronofsky," Chin said of the stunning makeup. "I felt that he was looking for something dramatic and visually striking, so all of the intensity was focused in the eyes."
