The designs at Jill Stuart for Spring 2014 were meant to mimic a "rock star's girlfriend on holiday," and the name we continued to hear backstage was Kate Moss. Odile Gilbert styled the hair with an iron only at the midshaft, leaving the roots and ends straight. She then used Kérastase Powder Bluff ($36) to get bed-head texture and purposeful flyaways.
The makeup was an atypical smoky eye. Makeup artist Aaron de Mey used Givenchy's Kajal Eye Pencil in Magic Black ($24) and layered on mascara for the most intense black. What makes this look different than your usual smoky eye? Aaron finished the lids with lip gloss for high shine.
The nails and toes were painted with Essie After School Boy Blazer ($8), a polished Fall shade, but lead manicurist Julie Kandalec says darks will still be on-trend for nails come Spring.
