Last night at the Maxim Hot 100 party in Los Angeles, tattoo artist Katherine Von Drachenberg (aka Kat Von D) arrived with stars in her eyes. Or at least, next to them.

I guess I'll just never get used to someone having about 20 or so stars tattooed around her eye area. Not to say it isn't art; I just find the permanence unbelievable — and imagine the pain.

Kat's makeup (which you can enter to win by taking this quiz) was bold, just like her personality. She wore lots of highlighter on her eyes, her lips were red and creamy, and her blush was strong. I really liked her asymmetrical liquid eye liner; however, her shellacked eyebrows were over the top. Usually I don't get too excited about celebrity-endorsed makeup lines, but a forthcoming collection from Kat Von D seems promising.

Usually I don't get too excited about celebrity-endorsed makeup lines, but a forthcoming collection from Kat Von D seems promising. The tattoo artist, best known for her stint on Miami Ink, is releasing a line of cosmetics with Sephora. Due out this Spring, it includes two eye shadow palettes (one named after her hairless cat!), six eyeliners, an eye brush set, and four lipsticks (three red shades, one pink).

The colors are surprisingly versatile, so while tattooed rocker girls will have plenty to choose from, you don't necessarily have to be a bad girl to get into the line. Kat designed the rose-themed packaging herself, and she reveals more about the line in this video interview. Do you have the inkling to look at this collection? Last night, the pre-Grammy Award festivities kicked off with a party at new hotspot Goa hosted by Fuse TV and Pete Wentz. Ashlee was on his arm, of course, fresh off her mini club tour and still sticking with her red hair. Paris Hilton came to the party by herself, but she left on the arm of former (and it looks like current again) flame Simon Rex. Now there's a blast from the past. Other party guests included folks who probably won't make it to this weekend's big award show — a very, very tan Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Taye Diggs — as well as a few who we should expect to see getting red-carpet ready: Adam Levine . . . and Mark Ronson? I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the Grammys bring our way this Sunday.
