L'Oréal Paris makeup artist Mary Phillips wanted to give Jennifer Lopez's makeup a glamorous vintage feel for the Golden Globes. For Jennifer's eyes, Mary first applied a thick wash of metallic silver eye shadow from lash line to just above her crease, followed up with black liquid eyeliner on her lash lines and three coats of L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara in Blackest Black ($8). For Jennifer's peachy-nude lips, Mary applied L'Oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Perpetual Peach ($10).
After she was conspicuously absent from its latest commercials, rumors were swirling that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Bollywood's long-reigning queen, was on the verge of being dropped from her extensive contract with L'Oreal in favor of the company's equally lovely brand ambassador Freida Pinto. Today, however, L'Oreal issued a strong denial calling the rumors "absolutely untrue" and stating that Aish was just "unfortunately unavailable for our New Year commercial shoot due to prior commitments." The company reiterated that Aishwarya will continue to be the face of many of the cosmetic giant's brands globally and in India.
The whole rumor sounds like it was designed to start trouble between Aishwarya and Freida — although it's really rather silly to suggest that there's not room for both of them at L'Oreal — but do you think there may be something else going on?
Jennifer Lopez is leveraging her sleek hair and perfect skin to become a global brand ambassador for L'Oreal. The singer/actress/designer just inked a multiyear, multimillion dollar contract with the company to represent a number of its lines, starting with ads for EverSleek hair care products in 2011.
Jennifer promises that her campaign will be different from the average spokesmodel's, saying, "How you look and feel is very important to how you portray something. So what I wear and how the hair and makeup is and how I move and choose to move in the campaign says a lot for the product and what we are trying to portray." Given how successful her never-ending line of fragrances has been, La Lopez is clearly a good business bet. But do you think Jennifer and L'Oreal are a good pairing?
