Travel Tip: Use the Shower Cap to Take the Hotel Soap Home

Besides having ice delivered to your room for free (not to mention the comfy robes), one of the perks of staying in a nicer hotel is sampling the equally fancy bathroom products.

Besides having ice delivered to your room for free (not to mention the comfy robes), one of the perks of staying in a nicer hotel is sampling the equally fancy bathroom products. Recently, while staying at a swanky NYC hotel, I became so enthralled with their soap selection, which I believe to be Lather's exfoliating body soap, I knew I had to take it home.

But sticking a bar of soap in my carry on? I wasn't feeling that idea so much. Instead, I let good ol' shower cap come to the rescue. Simply allow the soap to dry if possible, set it in the "well" of the cap, and make a knot by using the elastic bits at the ends. Then, be prepared to relive your latest vacation in the comfort of your own shower with your well-preserved hotel soap.
