Summer's Most Extreme Music Festival Hair and Makeup Looks

Warm-weathered times equal music festivals galore: Pitchfork, Lollapalooza, Warped Tour, and the like. Throughout the past few months, there have been plenty of fresh eye makeup styles and high-to-the-sky hairstyles to go along with these free-spirited occasions. Whether they're sparkly or require 10 different styling products to be achieved, these looks demand to be seen. Since Labor Day, the unofficial change of the season has come and gone, so let's take a trip down memory lane to recap some beauty highlights from the past several months.

Get the Look: Bat For Lashes

Natasha Khan, better known as Bat For Lashes, is super-styley and talented.

Natasha Khan, better known as Bat For Lashes, is super-styley and talented. Her new album, Two Suns, is so dreamy that it begs to be played on hot Summer nights. She also has a style all her own, and although we've covered it with a colorful makeup tutorial, I figured it was time to revisit this style icon.

At a recent performance, she showed off a hip and pretty look that can inspire you for a night out. Natasha's two-toned bangs are unusual but not too wacky, and she makes glitter work for her. To create a similar look, use a base of silver eye shadow on your eyelids. Then, use a soft makeup brush to gently blend turquoise shadow just past the outer corner of your eyes. A bit of glitter adds sparkle; you can use loose glitter, but Fab swears by Urban Decay's glitter eyeliner for its staying power. Barely-there pink lipstick, a warm blush, and a nature-glam hair accessory tops off the look. Now get a keyboard and start your own band.

How-To: Natasha Khan's Striped Makeup

The 2008 Brit Awards took place last night in London.

The 2008 Brit Awards took place last night in London. I pointed out noteworthy women with dewy skin earlier today, but the most eye-catching and edgiest makeup look of the evening had to be from English singer and songwriter Natasha Khan (aka Bat For Lashes).

While Londontown tends to bear many brave beauty looks, this striped eye and neck rainbow makeup is really off the wall. Having said that, I think it also happens to be a unique look for a costume party, Halloween or any event where you're looking to stand out in a crowd.
