Last night, Rita Ora, Kate Moss, and Georgia May Jagger showed up to celebrate Rimmel London's 180th birthday at the brand's 180 Years of Cool event — and each star looked ready to party. Rita Ora hit the carpet in a plaid double-breasted suit, complete with gold embroidery. She took its punk vibe one step further with black platform boots, embellished with gold studs, no less. Kate Moss turned up in a black and silver top, which she paired with ultraskinny pants tucked into black booties. She finished her look with a silver studded velvet cape. Meanwhile, Georgia May Jagger took glamrock to a whole new level in a long-sleeved metallic minidress, complete with silver beadwork, fringe, and a very sexy faux neckline.
Kate Moss was joined by her fellow Rimmel London spokeswomen Rita Ora and Georgia May Jagger for the iconic brand's 180 Years of Cool events in London on Thursday. First, the supermodel attended a photocall at the Savoy Hotel and posed while sitting in a roomy velvet chair — could it be that Kate has officially taken her throne as the queen of cool? Later, she and Georgia met up once again for a party at the London Film Museum, each arriving in special vehicles with their billboards plastered on the side.
Kate has been one of the faces of Rimmel London for over 10 years and created her own lipstick range for the cosmetics giant in 2011. In addition to making her mark in the beauty business, Kate is also returning to another famous British brand: Topshop. It was announced earlier this week that Kate will renew her partnership with the company and release a 40-piece collection for sale in stores and online in April. About being back with the brand after a three-year hiatus, Kate said, "Now more than ever, with London being at the forefront of fashion . . . it feels like I'm back home working with Topshop."
Rita Ora is the latest star to sign on the dotted line to create a makeup range for Rimmel London. She will work with Rimmel to develop a limited-edition range of lip and nail shades that will go on sale early next year. She follows in the footsteps of Kate Moss, who has put her name on two lipstick collections and a set of nail polishes for Rimmel.
Will Rita's collection be as successful as Kate's? Only time will tell. But we predict it will be bold, bright, and full of fun; Rita's not one to shy away from a dramatic makeup look. As she said herself, "I am absolutely obsessed with makeup and being adventurous with colors, so when I was given the chance to make my own collection with Rimme, it was like a dream come true!" The collection is set to launch in February 2014.
Kate Moss apparently has a knack for doing her own manicure, so it seems her new nail polish line with Rimmel London is a natural next step. "I'm really good at painting," she told Telegraph. "It's one of the things I like to do on holiday — a line up of all the girls and make their nails look nice."
She may be a fashion trendsetter, but Kate also has a knack for wearing the next big thing in nails, too. "I got into the long, thin, vampy lady [nails], but now I'm back into fresh and younger and shorter." The model is also up on the classic nude trend with the neutral beige Soul Sessions as her favorite color from the collection.
However, if you're more into the vibrant hues, Kate's latest nail collection has a great range of color inspired by, well, a lot of things. "It's quite instinctive really, something would inspire me whether it's, you know, a band or a film or some kind of character — Debbie Harry, you know in Studio 54."
Kate's Super Pro nail line will be available in stores this Spring, and she only has one rule for you: matching is forbidden. "On set it would be a big no-no to match the lip with the nail," she said. "It's always a clash."
Who says trends are just for fashion? Any savvy style maven knows that when seasonal clothing changes, so too should your beauty repertoire. And this season, look no further than Rimmel London's Fall collection to get everything you need to update your makeup look. What are the highlights? Go big with wow-factor eyelashes, find the perfect foundation, and always finish your look with a perfect pout.
Describing the London style that her collection expresses, Kate told WWD that it's an eclectic look. "I think anything goes in London," she said. "It's very different from Paris and New York. You can be who you want to be." It may also be the least expensive way to get a little bit of Kate Moss's glamour, so to see some of the collection's standout shades up close, just keep reading.
I was still in a Formula 1 mood today and I was thinking about the "Red Bull gives you wings" slogan, so I did a blue-winged eyeliner look. . . I started with my brows. Normally I do nothing to them, but with a very defined eye, I thought a defined brow would look amazing. I used my Tweezerman tweezers to pluck any stray hairs and then used Cork and Models Own Angled Eyeliner Brush to add a little color to them. I then used MAC Soft Ochre as a base and some Brule to set it. With a MAC 266 Angled Liner Brush, I took some MAC Fluidline in Waveline and first made the outer corners.
