We all have a friend who goes crazy for kawaii, or cute, Japanese pop culture goods. Why not make her holiday with a gift that appeals to her cartoonish side? Help her catch up on her beauty sleep with a
Rilakkuma eye mask ($11), or give her a place to stash her stuff with a Kuromi cosmetic case ($16). Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers Wicked Style gift set ($100) lets her get all dolled up in fragrance, and if she curls her hair, she may as well do it with a Hello Kitty curling iron ($40). Add a set of made-in-Tokyo candy-themed press-on nails ($8), track down an issue of CUTiE magazine, and your gift is ready.
Demeter Teams Up With Hello Kitty
If you were the kind of child whose heart skipped a beat every time she walked past the Sanrio store, you might think this news is the cat's meow. Demeter, the fragrance company known for its spray-on copies of everything from dirt to mai tais, has created scents just for Sanrio.
Hello Kitty ($20) is light and apple-scented, just like the famous cat's favorite food. Demeter also produced a citrusy Little Twin Stars fragrance ($20), for those of you who were fans. They're both available only online, so I have yet to smell them. Somewhere, though, my inner 8-year-old is absolutely plotzing.
Gift Guide: The Arrested Adolescent
If you have some friends who can't get enough of Hello Kitty lamps or tongue-in-cheek embroidered throw pillows when it comes to decorating their homes, don't despair, embrace it! Some of my favorite friends' abodes are peppered with fun accessories from Kid Robot, Upper Playground, Sanrio, and other hip and youthful stores. Maybe you don't want your pals to take the theme as far as they did at the Hello Kitty gate lounge in Terminal 2 of the Taipei International Airport, but I think some fun, arrested adolescent accents in a home can provide a lovely youthful spirit.

Wednesday Is Already in Hello Kitty Mania!
When we checked out the latest Hello Kitty pet products, I couldn't help but remember one of my fave celebripups, spokespersondog Wednesday from Girls Next Door. This Pekingese is already a TV star all on her own – check out "Winnie" modeling some Hello Kitty gear . . . even a bikini.
New Product Alert: Hello Kitty
Hello Kitty! The popular (and often pink) line was recently extended to pet products – once again letting people get their animals in on their fave brands. In the trademark sugary style, there was a Hello Kitty Sweet Suite showing off some of the new additions to the existing items. Website Of The Day: Hello Kitty Hell
I see a lot of Hello Kitty gadgets everyday, but I never considered what it might be like to be the parent or spouse of a pink-obsessed fairy princess until I became a fan of Hello Kitty Hell. The site was created by the husband of a Hello Kitty fanatic as an attempt to process, cope and poke fun at his wife's obsession. He posts all the smiley pink goodness he can find, like this 24-karat gold, Swarovski crystal beads covered Hello Kitty Business card case that costs $225.
fairy MK, who nominated the site as Website of the Day says: "First off, he HATES Hello Kitty. And this guy shows tons and tons of Hello Kitty products — it's really interesting to see her domination over the world and all the Hello Kitty products. Some are hilarious while others are confusing."

Who's Your Favorite Sanrio Character?
I almost said "what is" but that would be sacriligious. Hello Kitty, of course, is the patron saint of Sanrio, but she has a few cute competitors. Who's your fave?
