Yes To Adds Grapefruit to Their Fruit Basket

The fruit basket at Yes to Carrots is growing with the introduction of their new line, Yes to Grapefruit.

The fruit basket at Yes to Carrots is growing with the introduction of their new line, Yes to Grapefruit. Each of the seven new offerings is designed to correct and repair discoloration. "A lot of customers are growing up with us and are now looking for something a little bit different," founder Ido Leffler told WWD. "[They are] starting to worry about how they look in regards to complexion."

Grapefruit is a proven remedy for dark spots and has anti-inflammatory benefits, too. The line includes body wash, eye cream, serum, face scrub, body cream, face moisturizer, and the Yes To fan favorite, cleansing wipes. The products will be available in drugstores for less than $20 starting this March. Even as Yes To grows, the brand maintains its devotion to natural beauty (some products are up to 99 percent natural). If you snubbed carrots, passed on tomatoes, sidestepped cucumbers, and brushed off blueberries, the tropical scent and bright pink packaging will have you saying yes to grapefruit, for sure.

What We're Sweet On: A Night Cream For Fall Days

It's time to up the ante in your skin-moisturizing regimen.

It's time to up the ante in your skin-moisturizing regimen. Instead of getting new products for the cooler months, reach for Yes to Cucumbers Night Cream ($15) for your daytime skin relief. This hydrating lotion is formulated for sensitive skin, so ingredients like aloe relieve redness and irritation caused by whipping winds. Although it is made for overnight hydration, lightweight emollients like grapeseed and sweet almond oil protect against Fall's daytime dryness. And, of course, the fresh cucumber scent is a daily pick-me-up. You'll be using a pea-sized portion of this product day and night from November to March — and feeling better because of it.

What We're Sweet On: Acne Cleanser Without the Freeze-Your-Face Side-Effects

Acne cleansers, especially the gel variety, can be so astringent, you're left looking like Han Solo sealed in carbonite.

Acne cleansers, especially the gel variety, can be so astringent, you're left looking like Han Solo sealed in carbonite. With Yes to Tomatoes Acne Control Gel Cleanser ($10), skin is not just smoother, but softer, too. While the face wash contains the ubiquitous salicylic acid to gently slough away dead skin, preventing new blemishes from sprouting, it's the tomato ingredient that does some of the most impressive work. Thanks to the lycopene contained within this antioxidant-rich vegetable fruit, pores are unclogged and inflammation often associated with flare-ups is reduced. Fruit acids also help to control oil production; you're still left looking slick, but only in all the best ways.

For times when you desire just the faintest hint of color, tinted lip balms, like Yes to Carrots' recently launched Color Balms ($16 for three, $6 each), are the way to go.

For times when you desire just the faintest hint of color, tinted lip balms, like Yes to Carrots' recently launched Color Balms ($16 for three, $6 each), are the way to go. Subtly glossy and softly hued, these touch-of-tint balms leave a healthy-looking wash of color behind; they're the kind of products you turn to when you're going for the whole no-makeup makeup look. Besides, how can you not love the added benefit of soft and smooth lips? Thank you, jojoba and sunflower seed oils. Available in three sheer shades: Soft Plum, Rosy Bloom, and Peachy Keen.

Reader Review of the Day: Yes to Carrots Lip Butter in Carrot

Yes to Carrots makes a whole range of purportedly eco-friendly beauty products at drugstore prices, which in my estimation is a good thing.

Yes to Carrots makes a whole range of purportedly eco-friendly beauty products at drugstore prices, which in my estimation is a good thing. But sometimes cheap and green do not the perfect product for you make, as reader Oni1 found out when she tried the Yes to Carrots Lip Butter ($3.69). She says:

At first try, I thought this was the best balm ever, but now I've been using it off and on for several months and have concluded it's just OK. I like that it applies smoothly, the smell/flavor isn't offensive, and I like the packaging, but I've gotten similar results from Vaseline. For the price I think it should come with SPF.

Bella Brand: Yes to Carrots

If you've already said Yes to Carrots (the line launched internationally in November 2006), get ready to say Yes to Tomatoes and Yes to Cucumbers, as two of the spin-off lines launch in the US this month.

If you've already said Yes to Carrots (the line launched internationally in November 2006), get ready to say Yes to Tomatoes and Yes to Cucumbers, as two of the spin-off lines launch in the US this month. The tomato line is formulated with Lycopene, antioxidant red tea, antibacterial red pepper and is best for oily or combination skin. The cucumber line includes healing aloe, green tea, and green pepper to soothe and brighten skin.

At an event to introduce Yes to Cucumbers and Yes to Tomatoes stateside yesterday, CEO Ido Leffler said a major goal of the line is to "bring smiles to people's faces," pointing out that the shampoo bottle instructs you to "shampoo daily on wet hair while singing" (and yes, people have written in to point out that it works whether you are singing or not). To that end, the company has also launched The Seed Fund, which has done everything from set up victims of domestic violence with gardening jobs in Ohio to offering an after-school program for Ethiopian immigrants in Israel. With your cash not only benefiting your looks but also worthwhile causes like these, it's hard to just say no.
