Beauty Mark It: Blemish Blasters

Remember that episode of Sex and the City when Carrie gets an enormous pimple on the train ride to San Francisco?

Remember that episode of Sex and the City when Carrie gets an enormous pimple on the train ride to San Francisco? Ugh, I felt for her. Since adult acne is definitely not high on my list of Martha Stewart-style "good things," I rely on antiblemish products and oil-free creams to help keep the bumps at bay.

So, for this week's Beauty Mark It challenge I'm thinking blemish control. Which products do you love and which ones do you hate when it comes to reducing pimples and oil production on the skin? Just follow the link above and review, review, review. I'll feature my three favorites here next Tuesday.

Beauty Mark It! Bubble Baths

My mom was never really too strict.

My mom was never really too strict. Ho-Hos and "pop" in the lunchbox? Cookie Crisp for breakfast? Yep, it was allowed. But, when it came to bubble baths, that's where she drew the line. Thanks to an overzealous dumping of an entire box of Mr. Bubble ($3.09) back in the early '80s, my sister and I were banned from sudsy baths for years.

Now, as an adult, I take bubble baths as often as I can — but this time around with a glass of wine and some candles. All that's missing is a little Kenny G. (I kid.) So, for this week's Beauty Mark It challenge, I'm asking you to share your most liked and disliked bubble baths. Which ones suds up nicely, and which ones fall flat?

Just go to the bubble bath section of our Product Reviews page and voice your opinion. So, get splishin' and splashin' — I'll pick my top three favorites and feature them here next Tuesday.

Beauty Mark It! Hair Removal

Back in ancient Egyptian times, it was common practice for people to remove hair over their entire bodies to prevent fleas, lice, and parasites from sticking around.

Back in ancient Egyptian times, it was common practice for people to remove hair over their entire bodies to prevent fleas, lice, and parasites from sticking around. Makes sense to me. Fast forward to current times, and it's mostly about aesthetics or social values. This also makes sense, I suppose, but I still hate shaving nonetheless.

So, for this week's Beauty Mark It challenge, I'm asking you to review hair-removal tools. Whether it's a shaver, an epilator, or a wax-at-home kit, tell me what you think, and I'll post my favorites next Tuesday. Your much appreciated opinion will be added to our growing Product Reviews Page, and you can feel good knowing you influenced somebody's buying decision. Yay, you!

And just in case you haven't heard, we are very excited at Sugar HQ to offer Bella's Ultimate Beauty Getaway, where you can enter for a chance to win a few days of pampering in my hometown of San Francisco, all by reviewing products. Get to it — now is the perfect time to give it a whirl.

Eyeliner

Beauty Mark It! Eyeliner

It's said that eyeliner was used on the eyes of Ancient Egyptians and Mesopotamians, who applied black lines for practical purposes (keeping sun out of eyes) and aesthetic effects (à la Cleopatra).

It's said that eyeliner was used on the eyes of Ancient Egyptians and Mesopotamians, who applied black lines for practical purposes (keeping sun out of eyes) and aesthetic effects (à la Cleopatra). Fast forward to modern times, and eyeliner is still rocking it, with just a few more shades than kohl black.

This leads me to the Beauty Mark It challenge. Each week I've been asking you to share your opinions on our growing Product Reviews site, where you can add your thoughts on everything from shampoo to Brazilian wax kits.

This week's topic is eyeliner, so whether you prefer pencils, liquids, powders, or gels, tell us what's a yea or a nay in your beauty book.

And just in case you haven't heard, we are very excited at Sugar HQ for Bella's Ultimate Beauty Getaway, where you can win a chance for a few days of pampering in town of San Francisco, all by reviewing products. So, here's your chance! Our eyeliner page awaits.

Face Mask

Beauty Mark It! Marvelous Masks

Taking the extra five to ten minutes (OK, hour) to let a facial mask work its magic is one of life's simple pleasures for me.

Taking the extra five to ten minutes (OK, hour) to let a facial mask work its magic is one of life's simple pleasures for me. Except, I swear that the doorbell always rings during the process. "That's all right ma'am," said the UPS delivery guy, as I apologized for my most recent goopy green face application. "I've seen it all," he said.

Minor embarrassment aside, I just love the results and feel of masks, whether they be creamy, gel-like, clarifying, acne fighting, or firm inducing. And since we switched up the format of the Beauty Mark It challenges last week with much success, let's do the same thing again this week, with face masks.

Just follow that link above, and review away. Your star-rated opinion will be added to our ever-expanding Product Reviews page, and I'll feature the top three face mask reviews next Tuesday. And don't forget: every day you share a product review, you're entered to win a prize.
