Nothing says a product is worthy of purchase more than an industry seal of approval: for movies, it's all about the Oscars, and in beauty, we have the CEW Beauty Insiders' Choice Awards. This year the Cosmetic Executive Women foundation announced the best launches from 2012 in every category from skin care to nails. The competition garnered more than 300 entries, but alas, only 32 victors were crowned. These trophies are voted on by the people behind the scenes in the cosmetics industry such as retailers, manufacturers, and media. Shop our top 10 favorites from the winner's list below:

Celebrities like Whitney Port, Kim Kardashian, and Selita Ebanks were on hand to dish out the awards, along with host Mario Cantone. Each year, industry insiders and experts from the Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) gather together to pick the best of the best in new beauty products. The exciting process starts off with the CEW Product Demonstration in March, and concludes with the prestigious Product Awards in May. And thanks to the CEW, we're giving away three gift bags, filled to the brim with amazing beauty products from the demonstration. Three lucky winners will each receive a different bag (valued at approximately $2,000 per bag!), that could include products from the likes of Estée Lauder, Michael Kors, Bumble and Bumble, Sally Hershberger, and much more*. To enter, just take the quiz by midnight 11:59 p.m. PDT on May 30, and three winners will be selected at random. Your eligibility is not based on getting the answers correct, just on taking the quiz after you are logged in. You do, however, need to be a PopSugar Community member to enter. Each year, members of the organization, consisting of industry professionals and experts, sample loads and loads of beauty goods, voting on the ones that wow them the most.

Needless to say, to win a CEW Award is pretty prestigious stuff. Recently, Cosmetic Executive Women president Carlotta Jacobson shared some of her favorite products of the year as well as a little more about the goings-on behind the scenes.

Each year, beauty professionals and experts convene to celebrate the best products of the year, voting on their favorites in the process. Last year, products like the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser, Lancôme Ôscillation, and Harajuku Lovers Fragrances "G" were just a few that took home the coveted accolades. If you're not familiar, each year, members of the CEW, who are working professionals in the industry, gather together to select their top beauty picks of the year.
