The Bling Ring finally hits theaters this Friday after months of press by the film's stars, including Katie Chang, Israel Broussard, Claire Julien, and Taissa Farmiga, who appear alongside Emma Watson in the Sofia Coppola-directed project. While we've been fascinated by the real-life story that the movie is based on and even took a closer look at the true story as it unfolded, the young stars have been busy traveling the world promoting their big-screen effort. They've been snapping plenty of pictures along the way and sharing them on social media — take a look at Emma, Israel, Katie, and their costars as they prep for the big release!
Emma Watson and her Bling Ring costars premiered their new project in NYC last night at the Paris Theatre. She was joined by director Sofia Coppola, Katie Chang, Israel Broussard, and the rest of the cast for the East Coast fete for the new film. The gang hooked up in LA last week when they premiered The Bling Ring alongside stars like Gwen Stefani and real-life Bling Ring victim Paris Hilton. While at the West Coast celebration, Paris told us that she still gets emotional when thinking about getting robbed by the group of Hollywood teens who targeted her home in 2008. Interestingly enough, Paris revealed that she never received an apology from the young criminals, who are all currently free and out of jail. Find out more about the robber bunch, including why they targeted Paris and which former Disney stars were next on their list before they got caught, in our real-life Bling Ring facts.
We chatted with Katie Chang and Israel Broussard, the stars of Sofia Coppola's latest film, The Bling Ring, which tells the true story of a teenager-run crime spree that targeted the glam-packed Hollywood homes of celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Bilson, and, of course, Paris Hilton. The cast actually got to film inside Paris’s pad, but one room was off-limits — so what do they think is behind the door? And did costar Emma Watson keep her valley girl accent going between takes? Find out!
Katie Chang has a breakout role as the mastermind of The Bling Ring. We spoke with the Chicago-raised actress at last night's LA premiere of the movie, where she told us she thought someone was playing a joke on her when she was told she got the part — her first in a film. Katie also told us she thinks celebrity worship has "permeated" youth culture and talked about the unique experience of shooting inside Paris Hilton's home. The most impressive part of the house? Katie says it was Paris's shower, which is bigger than her own closet.
