Summer is the perfect season to master your barely there makeup look, and the newest shades from Lipstick Queen are perfect for creating a subtle palette. The Chinatown Glossy Lip Pencil in Catalina ($20) is a sheer, soft pink that gives your lips a hint of natural color with a glossy sheen that's not over-the-top. The subtle pink shade is just the right hue to bring out the color that's already in your lips, which makes it work on all skin tones for a natural look. Plus, the chubby pencil makes it easy to apply — even without a mirror — and it comes with a made-to-fit sharpener. With a little BB cream, a coat of mascara, and a swipe of pink color, you're good to go.
As fall quickly approaches, many of us are checking out the latest trends to prepare for the season. Bold, rich red and berry-colored eye shadows, deep smoky eyes, metallic golds and ambers, as well as matte nude, berry, and brownish-orange lips all ruled the fashion runways. I plan on adorning my pretty little face with a few of these trends. But I also plan on claiming as well as owning (as in self ownership and the ability to confidently wear) a few of my own trends. One of those trends will be the everyday bright-but-wearable pinkish red. I’m going to incorporate this color into my makeup, clothing, and, of course, nail color. I even saw Rihanna wearing a color similar to the one I have in mind in the “Love the Way You Lie” video, which is CND Wildfire. I know, I know… this isn’t a trend and it may even seem to be more appropriate for spring. The great thing about claiming and owning your own trend is that it doesn’t matter… just do you, and do it well.
