Get Kate Hudson's Piecey Ponytail

Kate Hudson makes even a simple hairstyle look like a million-dollar affair.

Kate Hudson makes even a simple hairstyle look like a million-dollar affair. Last night at the amfAR Inspiration Gala, Kate styled her signature waves into a low ponytail that combined the sleek with the tousled.

To get her contrasting textures, curl the entire head, leaving the ends straight. Next, apply a low-hold cream or hair spray to hands and gather the hair into a ponytail at the nape. After smoothing the sides down, lightly tug at the hairline with your fingers to create lift. Rake through the waves once or twice to position your strands as you like, but keep manipulation to a minimum so that individual waves stay intact. Finally, wrap a small section of hair around the ponytail holder and fasten with bobby pins. Finish the look with a shimmering shadow, fully rimmed eyes, and a touch of gloss, just like Kate.

How to Create a Messy Ponytail: Seen on Lela Rose Runway

Ponytails were seen on the Spring runways at shows like DKNY, Calvin Klein, and Monique Lhuillier.

Ponytails were seen on the Spring runways at shows like DKNY, Calvin Klein, and Monique Lhuillier. We were inspired by the sexy, messy ponytail from the Lela Rose runway because it's easy to re-create, and celebrities like Kristen Stewart and Nicole Richie were also seen recently with versions of the textured ponytail. Watch as Zelana shows you how to create this fun, edgy, and effortless look for Summer!

Beauty Spring Peek: The Chic Sleek Ponytail

The chic, sleek ponytail is back!

The chic, sleek ponytail is back! Thank goodness...for once there is an easy style out there for the days when we need just a little extra sleep! These ponytails are low maintenance. They are a classic and beautiful way to pull off a polished look as well as a great way to secure your hair if you want it off of your face and neck.

Pony's also focus attention to your cheekbones. It's a little trick that expert hairstylists have been using for years to make women look refreshed and awake...sort of like you've just gotten a face lift! Calvin Klein is also an advocate of the ponytail. Here is a look from his Spring show. Check out the rest of my Spring Peeks if you like what you see here.
