Eva Mendes Thierry Mugler Angel Ads Are Out

Eva, who succeeds Naomi Watts, was chosen because of what Mugler calls her "independence, determination, and humor." While Naomi's ads focused more on the ethereal, I'm sure we'll be seeing Eva in some more come-hither posing. Are you glad to see Eva in a whole new fragrance campaign, or is it just too back-to-back with her Calvin Klein deal?
Ding! Every time a bell rings, an angel gets her lipstick, er. wings. And since 'tis the season for angelic ways, let's take a look at a few cherubic beauty goods. It turns out that shades of pink and blue, along with metallic accents of silver and gold, seem to dominate the color schemes of what beauty product manufacturers seem to think these celestial beings embody. So blast Aerosmith's "Angel," and check out these discoveries below:
This one's for all the rabid fans of Thierry Mugler Angel, the cotton-candy-caramel-vanilla juggernaut that launched the entire gourmand fragrance genre. This year, the brand decided to create a fancy little stocking stuffer, the Angel Solid Perfume Ring, which is silver plated and encrusted with diamantes. It's a little bigger and bolder than I might go, but I'd be surprised if it didn't sell out when it hits Saks Fifth Avenue shelves later this month. Would you be pleased to receive one of these, or would you rather just get a nice bottle of the stuff?
Looking for a lighter scent that's good for warm weather? Curious about what the fragrance world has in store for you this season? Then you've come to the right place. We Bellas sat down and sniffed a whole bunch of new fragrance releases designed to keep you cool and smelling great this Summer. We're describing how these perfumes actually smell, not just listing off notes, so if you want to know what someone means when they say something has a "solar accord" or an "infusion" of some note you really like, get ready to have your questions answered. This October, Thierry Mugler is releasing a new version of his 1992 perfume, Angel; the new scent is called Angel Les Parfums Corps. According to WWD, the nine items (exfoliating cream, hair mist, deodorant) will be as strongly scented as the perfume thanks to a new technology called the IDS-Intense Diffusion System technique. Sounds fancy.
British actress Naomi Watts, who wore the designer's gown to The Met's Costume Institute Gala, has signed on as the face of the new fragrance as well as the Thierry Mugler cosmetics line I told you about back in May. Truthfully, I'm surprised Naomi hasn't had a large contract like this before — but it's certainly a good way to ring in her 40th birthday next month.
