I have used tons of different acne products and none have worked. i tried proactive and it did work for awhile but then it stopped. I started using Murad 5 months ago and it really improved my skin. It didn't completly get rid of my acne but i did see a huge improvement. i no longer have flaky rough skin and i have seen a huge reduction in redness. if you use the 3 products in the acne line it works great, the cleanser can be drying if you don't use the toner and moisturizer that goes with it. |

The Best! |

I am bummed to read some of the bad reviews because the whole Murad Acne line is the only stuff I have ever used that actually did reduce my breakouts & improve my skin. I used to have extremely bad skin (big zits that hurt when you barely touch them) & now it is WAY better! That's not to say that I still don't break out, but they are tiny lil pimples compared to what I had before. I have tried EVERYTHING out there from drugstore remedies, holistic treatments to prescriptions (except Accutane). Dr. Rodan who co-founded ProActiv used to be my dermatologist & she had all but given up on me until she recommended Murad & I've been a fan ever since. It does take some getting used to at first (you have to work your way up to the recommended dosage of each product, otherwise you can burn your skin - these are chemicals!) but after a month and a half, my skin showed huge improvements! |

I love the way it smells and leaves my skin all tingly after washing. I feel it helps minimize breakouts and overall oil production. I only use it once a day though--at night--I find it too drying if used both in the morning and night. Hence, minus one star. |

I got a couple of deluxe samples of this through the company and was very excited. Love the texture and that I didn't need much to cleanse my entire face. Really felt 'clean' and no residue or oil left over- yet not drying. Lasts a long time (even the sample size). It worked well to keep breakouts under control for the few weeks I used this, but not extraordinary results to make me shell out the big bucks for this. Definitely quality products form Murad, but I don't think the price tag is justified for what you get. |

Less Drying for My Skin |

I have combination skin and I breakout especially on my chin and T-zone. I've tried several different salicylic acid cleansers because they do seem to minimize my breakouts but most of them make my skin really dry no matter how much moisturizer I lather on. This one keeps the zits at bay and it doesn't dry my skin out as much as the others. It's perfect with their skin perfecting moisturizer (which is my absolute favorite). It is pricey though so I'm only giving it 4 stars because of that. |

Not Bad At All |

I don't have really bad acne to begin with, but I do get pimples more than I would like. My skin showed some improvement from this product. The cleanser seems gentle when I'm actually using it, but after a few uses, I've noticed it dries out my skin. I definitely need to put on heavy moisturizer afterwards. Besides that, it's not too bad. however, I'm not sure it's the best acne cleanser available for its price category. |

have moderate acne, have a couple big ones once a month, been using it twice daily for about 3 weeks now, before i used it whenever i remembered (not good). It works better now that i use it twice daily, cystic acne is gone and i hope it stays that way. i do all 3 steps and like to leave this product on for 45 seconds and let it "set in" and then wash my face off, i actually feel like it works when i let it set in. And as a past proactive user, this product is better. |

Tragically overpriced, strong smelling, and harsh. This product did nothing for my skin which is disappointing because Murad is such a skincare giant. |

Not only have I had problems with acne for a long time, but I have very oily skin and enlarged pores. Since I've been using the Murad cleanser, my skin is much clearer and smoother. It feels really good too, since it provides a slight cooling sensation. I use it every day! I will definitely re-purchase this cleanser. |

HATED this product!! It did nothing to clear up my skin, even using it religiously for 2 months. No improvement - nothing! I guess it works for some and not for others. |

Not Perfect, But The Best Of The Rest |

Let me preface this by saying I've tried my share of acne products, from prescription treatments to Proactive to drug-store brands. So far, my Murad kit (cleanser, exfoliating acne gel, spot treatment, lotion) has worked the best. I love the menthol in the cleanser and how none of the products are irritating. My skin started clearing up in a week (not considerably, but noticeable) and has remained the same since. I've had it for two weeks, so I hope it works long-term. Regardless, it's the best acne product I've tried so far! Also, for those not willing to shell out $60 for something that might not work for you, Sephora (where I bought the kit) gives out free test samples of products if you ask. |

In my quest for clearer skin, I turned to the ridiculously overpriced Murad line for help, but there was none to be had. This cleanser is definitely gentle, but maybe it's a little too gentle. When I spend that kind of money on a product, I want to feel it working and see results, neither of which happened with this cleanser. I'm also suspicious of "clinical" products that use a lot of botanicals--doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose? Regardless, there are much better cleansers out there for much less coin. |

I had gotten a sample of this product, and I was so excited to try it. At the time, I was having horrible cystic acne breakouts on my forehead and chin. I started using this, and it didn't seem to do much of anything. I've heard you're supposed to give a new cleanser time to work, but I waited two months for any kind of result and got NADA! Instead, I think it made my breakouts worse! |

It's not perfect, but it's good for what it is. I really like how thick the foam is, even with a small amount of cleanser, and how easy it is to rinse off. It also doesn't irritate my skin like other cleansers do. Sometimes, cheeks turn pink after washing my face, but I have yet to experience that with this cleanser. It's also not nearly as drying as another reviewer claims it to be. My skins feels a little tight after washing, but it's nothing that can't be fixed with a light moisturizer. On the other hand, maybe it's just the summer heat, but I haven't really noticed a difference with my mild acne. |

I suffer from mild acne and have tried many different cleansers that are out there. From drug store cleansers to prescribed and ProActiv. And then I came across Murad. I punched in my credit card number and waited a week until it arrived at my door step. I was a bit hesitant but I tried it and BOY! was it worth it. After a couple weeks my skin had cleared up considerably. It was such a confidence booster. I use Murad religiously, morning and night. I do break out once every month when Aunt Flow comes for a visit but that's to be expected. |

I was so excited when I got a deluxe sample of this cleanser because I heard it worked really well. I had enough to use it for about a month, but that never happened. This product completely dried out my skin. It was terrible. It dried out my skin to the point that it was flaking. After using this no amount of moisturizer could make my face go back to "normal". This stuff completely wrecked my skin for the week or two that I tried to use it.
