I Tried All the Rest, This Is the Best

I have incredibly sensitive skin - the kind of skin that gets red or breaks out when I put any new cleaner, lotion or creme on it. My dermatologist recommended Cetaphil many, many moons ago and I don't dare use any other cleanser. It's actually a "non soap soap" so it doesn't leave any of the residue other cleaners/soaps leave behind in your pores. Using it and cleaning my face is my favorite part of my "end of day" beauty routine.

I Won't Use Anything Else

I have been fighting a battle with my acne prone skin for my entire life. I would spend 100s of dollars on fancy cleansers, convinced that they were the only thing I was allowed to put on my face. I started using Cetaphil a few years ago after I went on a trip and forgot to pack my oh-so-expensive cleanser. I had heard from my dermatologist and tons of friends that it was a great cleanser, so I thought it would be ok for a couple of days. Now I am totally hooked and I wont use anything else. It does not dry my skin, but leaves it feeling clean and fresh. I love that you can buy it anywhere, so I never stress when I accidentally forget to pack it. It's also much better than leaving your $50 bottle of cleanser in the hotel shower.

With all the different products I am trying and a couple of new prescriptions, I can guarantee that this will soothe and be gentle on my skin. I've used it for at least 15 years because it is gentle and really leaves my face feeling clean. Easy to rinse off. Several derms have recommended this to me as well as my pediatrician for my kids. I use this in the shower all the time and for washing my face during the day after working out or being outside too long. In every bathroom in my house.

Always Bring It Back From The States

Posted: Mon, 06/16/2008 - 11:56am [+] - See all 714 reviews

Whenever I go to the US I always lug back a big bottle of this amazing cleanser. My skin's combination and Cetaphil is so gentle but SO effective, and works on my entire face. I've constantly read rave reviews of this product in the many US mags I read, so I made a bee line for it in the store when I was over there. It totally lived up to all my expectations and more! It comes in such a big bottle that it lasts a really long time and it's such a bargain price!

Classic, But Not Perfect

This is a product I periodically return to, and it's consistently good, but I definitely prefer picking it up in colder weather. I have combination skin that tends to stay on the oily side in the summer, and that's when I feel like this cleanser just never gets my face clean enough. I would not recommend it for anyone who lives in a sticky or humid climate and likes that refreshing clean feeling. Still it's a standout for something available at any drugstore. It's emollient, doesn't dehydrate or irritate, and is great at washing off makeup. It's so emollient, in fact, that I've used it in place of shaving cream when I've run out suddenly.

My favorite MUST-HAVE, and multiple uses!

Posted: Thu, 09/11/2008 - 7:16am [+] - See all 609 reviews

Cetaphil has long been on my top 5 list of toiletry must-haves. I can't use lotions or moisturizers on my face due to extremely sensitive skin, and this is the only product that I have found that not only keeps pimples away, but also doesn't leave my skin dry. I also use Cetaphil Facial Cleanser to shave my legs... it works better than any shave gel, especially because of my sensitive skin!

I've always liked Cetaphil facial cleanser. I think it's great for those with sensitive and/or dry skin. I use this cleanser a lot during the winter months when my skin feels dry and tight. Cetaphil cleans and softens it without drying it any further. A classic, no-frills product that gets the job done.

Cetaphil was a lifesaver for me

I have really sensitive skin and am allergic to everything. I use the Cetaphil gentle cleanser mixed with baking soda on my face and body for the most amazing at home microdermabrasion. All of my skin is left soft and smooth and silky. No bumps, no dry patches, just smooth pretty skin. I also use the it alone as shaving cream for really soft legs. I couldn't live without the Cetaphil lotions, either. Nothing to aggravate my fragrance allergies, but great quality lotions and moisturizers that keep my dry skin soft looking and feeling great.

I've tried this on multiple occasions without much luck. I just don't think my skin felt clean after using it and it kind of felt like there was a weird residue left on my face. As for the acne fighting power, I'm not actually sure. I've never used it long enough to actually see any results.

My boyfriend actually turned me onto this cleanser, he had being using it for years when I meet him. I initially thought this would never compare to any of the other terribly expensive cleanser I have used. However, I was completely wrong. I absolutely loved it. It non-drying and leaves my face feeling clean. But not overly clean where your face feels like all of the natural oil has been completely stripped from your face. I always make sure there is a big bottle in my shower!

I wasted so much money on expensive cleansers before finding Cetaphil.I was under the impression that expensive equals better. Cetaphil works so well. It doesn't leave my skin feeling dry, it removes makeup and dirt, it's cheap and it works on just about any skin type. My mother has highly sensitive skin and after years of trying products, she says this works the best. I LOVE CETAPHIL!

I have been using this for over 20 years, it is better then soap, and so less expensive then anything your Dermatologist would recommend, or the beauty counters would talk you into buying. My daughter uses it as well, and it has helped with eliminating most of her acne issues. Excellent!

No need to spend money on expensive cleansers

Posted: Thu, 10/02/2008 - 12:39pm [+] - See all 0 reviews

On par with the expensive cleansers out there but 1/10 of the cost, there's no need to ever spend more money on a daily cleanser for your face. I have been using this stuff for years, my skin is clear and moisturized and soft - I get comments about how soft my skin is all the time! I use it twice a day and really only have to buy a bottle 2-3 times a year, setting me back about $20 total. Highly recommended as part of a daily routine, Cetaphil is great!

This is the dermatologist-recommended cleanser that 99% of people rave about, but alas, this is no good for me. After using, my face feels like there's a film left behind on it. My face just doesn't feel squeaky clean. Plus, since my face broke out, Cetaphil makes my face sting like crazy. No more Cetaphil for me. Anybody want the rest of mine?

My friend loves this stuff so I bought a bottle and used it while I was showering. It did help clear my skin and made my skin feel clean but it also dried me out a bit. Though I can't be picky, it did clear my skin. I just need to use a good lotion after.

This is one way I keep my budget under control in the current economy! I use the type for oilier complexions in the summer and the traditional in the winter. It's so great. I don't need a separate eye make up remover either. It keeps my skin so balanced. It will take a lot to get me to pay $30 for face wash again.

cetaphil is one of those classic beauty products that it seems that everyone has. i have really dry skin (esp. along my t-zone) and i am prone to whiteheads/breakouts, so i'm really careful about what i put on my face. but i've never had any problems with cetaphil. the only problem is that i have to use a separate astringent with this product; it would be fabulous if it also removed makeup!

I started using this recently after my dermatologist recommended it and told me that I had to find an alternative to Clinique. It doesn't dry our my skin and is very gentle. I love that it's inexpensive. The only thing that is taking a little time to get used to is the scent, although it is faint enough that it doesn't both me too much. I've been happy with it.

This removes dirt and makeup from your skin without being too harsh. It doesn't foam like most other cleansers do, which makes you think that it isn't doing anything. Yet, when you rinse it off your skin feels clean and the makeup is gone.

I have been a fan of Cetaphil since the 70s

Posted: Fri, 07/25/2008 - 8:54am [+] - See all 2 reviews

I was a very skin care obsessed child and used to read up on moisturizers at every source. I noticed that many dermatologists reccomended this cleanser and started using it. I have tried cleansers from murad, Lamcome, Estee Lauder and Clinique over the years. But the other products jsut seem over scented or too chemical laden. Cetaphil gets a decent rating on the safety websites too. And I can pick up a two pack at Sams for short money...

This is the skin deep website that looks at the product safety ratings.

Read reviews for this product for years but always got side-tracked with the "newest" item. Then one day I broke down and purchased it and have been using it ever since. Love how it makes my face feel clean and it doesn't give that tight face that most cleansers do. The plus is that it doesn't cost a fortune and lasts forever. Sometimes you should stay with tried and true. Give it a whirl.

I had moderate cystic acne that would respond negatively to the salicylic acid containing cleansers. I did some research and found that this cleanser was very mild and decided to try it along with using some benzoyl peroxide at night, and it did wonders. It cleared up my skin and I've been getting compliments ever since. Its not drying and you can use it with or without water. Its very good for my combination and easily irritated cystic acne prone skin. I would recommend this treatment for a similar skin type!

I dislike this product because 1) It does not take off makeup. I like my cleansers to foam, and this never feels like it really gets my skin clean. 2) It slightly burns my face. I think I may be allergic to something in it, I beleive it's the Sodium Laurel Sulfate (which some people have problems to).

I have used Cetaphil for a good 7 yrs or so... starting around age 25. I am now 32 and I have noticed in the past couple of months that it is incredibly drying and makes me break out. Really. Like skin in winter weather feels. I recently switched to Keyano Aromatics (which yes is much more expensive) but you would not believe how wonderful my skin looks now, in only a weeks time. So yes, Cetaphil was great for me in my 20's with my 20's budget but I'll be sticking to Keyano Lemon Milk from now on.

No matter how many other fancy and expensive cleansers I've tried, I always wind up coming back to Cetaphil. My skin fluctuates between oily and dry, and this keeps it happy regardless of what it is doing. My skip tip, however -- only wash your face once a day, in the evening -- washing it twice a day can be too harsh and dry it out too much, causing more breakouts!

Can't Live Without this Cetaphil

Posted: Sat, 07/12/2008 - 10:59am [+] - See all 122 reviews

I think that this is a great cleanser to use daily! To give you a little background knowledge of my skin, I have combination skin with a few blemishes, and is pretty sensitive.

What is great about this cleanser is that it is very gentle on the skin, and removes excess dirt and oil from your face, without drying it out! The formula is non-irritating on my skin, nor does it cause any breakouts. Also, the formula is so gentle, that you can get away with using it multiple times a day -- which is great for people going to the gym in the middle of the day and want to wash their face again, people with overall really oily skin, etc. And for the price, you can't beat it (especially since there are always deals going around to get it for even cheaper!).

The only reason I didn't give this five stars is that I have found with other cleansers (because despite coming back to Cetaphil everytime, I love trying out new products), that this Cetaphil is not a great at removing all of my face make up, consisting of some concealer, foundation, and blush.

Cetaphil - a girl must have!

Posted: Fri, 07/11/2008 - 8:23pm [+] - See all 0 reviews

Cetaphil is nothing fancy. Just like the ingredients. Real simple & gentle ingredients. I absolutelly love the combination of Cetaphil and my skin. Since having three boys my skin is no longer the skin it used to be. Here I am at 30 something going through acne! But, with the help of Cetaphil my sensitive skin is easy to maintain. Another reason, my three boys love to make "experiments" in the tub or shower. So, all of my cleansers , hair products and whatever else may be in there are free for all it seems. So, Cetaphil is a PERFECT product for me. It gently cleans my skin without drying it (keeping me from purchasing another product) and it is not expensive. From a mother of three, Cetaphil is the only cleanser I will ever need. Then maybe, when the kids move out I can purchase bath gel.
