Some Clarification, Please

"As far as masks go, this one is actually all right. It doesn't burn too bad, it pulls out impurities fairly well and leaves your skin feeling refreshed. It's $30 for a little-ass tube, though, when you could get the same kind of action from the $5 Mint Julep Mud Mask at the drug store. I'm just saying. As much of a brand whore as I am, there are many instances where paying more does NOT get you more, and this is decidedly one of them. After all, it's just mud."

Not Bad, But Not Good

"This was pretty much the only product I tried in Murad's acne system that actually worked a little bit. It did moisturize and help smooth, but it also didn't have any SPF and worked as more of skin treatment than a moisturizer. Which I didn't really need any more treatment from them, seeing as how my poor skin was on fire from the wretched acne gel in the system. Unremarkable and yet another excuse to make you buy more products so you can get what you need, instead of making one product that has everything you need."

Skincare Like Burning

"It burns. It burns worse than any other acne treatment I've ever used, and I've used hundreds. You feel like your face is on fire. I like a nice tingly sensation as much as the next person, because you feel like it's working, but this stung so badly it made my eyes water. Even using it just at night made my skin look more red and inflamed than it already was. One the whole, I was thoroughly unimpressed by Murad's acne system as well as the majority of their other overpriced and non-effective products I tried. "

Not So Much

"This is quite possibly one of the worst moisturizers I've ever used. It takes a ton to feel like you're getting any moisturization action at all, but then it takes forever to absorb and you're left with greasy hands and a greasy face. It doesn't do anything for shiny areas, didn't soothe my dry patches and made my zits much worse as well. It also gives up midday and you're left with flakes and tightness along with bigger blemishes as an added bonus. Didn't work for me at all."

Great For Normal Skin...

"...wretched if your skin is anything else. They recommend this cleanser for combination skin, for some reason, but it did nothing to ease my face's schizo tendencies. It smells nice and has a satisfying foam, but in terms of deep cleansing without stripping moisture, it fails miserably. If your skin is perfect with no problems, go for it. But if your skin has issues, look elsewhere for a cleanser to help work them out."

It Ain't Easy Being Green

"This is one of the few Murad products I tried that I actually kind of liked, but the Murad products are definitely not a mix and match system, which is a problem if you have sensitive, combination skin and they don't have anything exactly for your skin type. This moisturizer is light and definitely soothing, but it still made my oily spots greasy and didn't get rid of my dry, flaky areas. So unless your skin has only redness to contend with, I'd suggest trying something a little more flexible."

Glow Like Whoa

"Of all the recent influx of daily lotion self-tanners, this one is probably my favorite, which isn't really saying much, considering I think it's pretty much the worst, most labor intensive way to get a little color without destroying some skin cells. This one at least smells pretty good, and has a little shimmer to the lotion to give you a nice subtle sparkle in the meantime. However, it still likes to cake up in your cuticles so they turn nice and orange and can really get streaky around elbows and ankles. This is really just the least of many, many evils."

Useless, But Wonderful

"I bought this before I went on an international flight because I heard it's what celebrities do. As much as I loathe them sometimes, they do tend to get few things right. This is basically a spray bottle of the best water in the world, and all you do is spritz it onto your face and it immediately cools and refreshes your skin. Then you blot it off after a few seconds and look instantly dewy, despite being trapped in an airplane cabin for 14 hours and having sat through Robots, Ice Princess and Hitch. Completely unnecessary, but a lovely small luxury to make you feel pretty and kind of rich, when you very well might be neither."

"This is my favorite self-tanner and I'm someone who hates to self-tan. It sprays on effortlessly and gets down into every nook and cranny without creasing or splotching. It goes on in less than five minutes and dries just as quickly. Make sure you exfoliate beforehand, obvs, and wash your hands afterwards, even though there's no awkward rubbing or trying to get the middle of your back like most tanners. Its smell has gotten a lot better over the years, but it still leaves that familiar faint odor behind once it dries. You can layer the color really nicely over several days if you need to, or just get a quick glow in a couple hours with less mess and way less fuss."

A Quick Boost

"This is the second eye cream I ever bought, and it actually did brighten my eye area, but it almost made things look a little too sparkly around those parts. It moisturizes nicely and has that great Neutrogena gentleness, but once again, I didn't really notice any substantial change in wrinkles or circles. It does better than most drugstore eye creams I've tried, however, and is a pretty good deal for the price."
