It's been a while since we've seen Marc Jacobs as subdued as he was at this year's presentation of his Marc by Marc Jacobs line at Fall New York Fashion Week. (What, no reverse-heeled shoes?) While I love that he chose to use pretty and flattering shades of pink on his model's lips, the otherwise bare faces and slicked-back ponytails do little to spice up the overall look. What do you think of this toned-down Marc?

I'm not entirely convinced that Mr. Bella will ever understand my beauty routine. "Do you really need to put wax (tinted moisturizer) on your face?" he asks.

Betty Draper on Mad Men is known for her bleeding-edge fashion sense, and the actress who plays her, January Jones, is no slouch herself. Last night at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, she arrived looking stylish (check out her cute dress), with a hairstyle that combines the classic with the risk-taking. Do you think it's another fashion-forward triumph or not?

Quick: what's better, baths or showers? Yeah, I know we tend to take more showers when we're in a hurry, and baths when we need a soak, but most of us have a secret (or not so secret) favorite. I love a good bath now and again, but I'm definitely a shower girl at heart.

Normally it's Rihanna's hair style and hair color that changes with great frequency, but last night in London, at the launch of her new album, Rated R, it was all about the eyes. Wearing a bright, cool-toned fuchsia eyeliner on her bottom lash lines, she topped off the look with a contrasting warm gold shadow on the lids and feathery falsies on the top lashes. For a similar funked-up look, try Make Up for Ever's Aqua Eyes in Fuchsia Pink ($17).

Perms get such a bad rap just because grandmas love them and they were a staple ingredient of '80s hair. Despite the fact that I know how useful they can be, and how many different kinds of perms there are, I might almost be hesitant to tell people if I got one, just for fear that they'd start laughing before I could explain. What's your opinion on the whole thing?

Ever since she was Princess Buttercup, Robin Wright Penn has been known for her enviable caramel blond hair. Yesterday, though, she arrived at a screening of The Private Lives of Pippa Lee with dramatic espresso hair and a much sexier look (she's also aging fantastically, don't you think?). I love both shades and I admire her willingness to go for a big change, but which color do you think suits the Princess Bride better?

I love oil-blotting sheets, so I always keep one packet at work and another in my purse. They're so useful for soaking up the pool of oil that collects on my face by early afternoon. Plus, there's something weirdly delightful about seeing the blotchy oil on the sheet.

Last week, I had one major case of sticker shock when I went to fill my prescription for a facial cream. "Do you still want it? It's $200," said the aide at the register.
