Love It or Hate It? Simple and Chic at Marc by Marc Jacobs
It's been a while since we've seen Marc Jacobs as subdued as he was at this year's presentation of his Marc by Marc Jacobs line at Fall New York Fashion Week. (What, no reverse-heeled shoes?) While I love that he chose to use pretty and flattering shades of pink on his model's lips, the otherwise bare faces and slicked-back ponytails do little to spice up the overall look. What do you think of this toned-down Marc?

As far as I can tell, my face falls into none of the prescribed "shape" types: it's basically squoval, to borrow a word from my manicurist's lexicon. To be on the safe side, I usually just follow the tips for square faces, since I do need to balance a little heaviness, but I also know that a great "square" cut isn't going to look amazing on me because my face is a little long and soft for it.
