Looks like the nude lip trend is hotter than ever this year. Just a few weeks ago we saw lots of pale pouts at the Teen Choice Awards, and here they are again at this year's VMAs. Love It or Hate It? Mel B.'s VMA Makeup

Okay, I have to be honest with all of you: I looked at Mel B. and thought, "Wow, she looks amazing! Eddie Murphy must feel like such a cad for treating her so rudely." The best revenge is looking great, they say, and Mel's big smile shows that she's living it up.

But then I looked closer, and saw visible lip liner. Gah! Melanie Brown, you know better! Still, we all make a makeup faux pas now and then (remember Paris' lipsticky teeth?), and overall, this Spice is far from scary. What do you think?

Well, most of you thought Paris would be back to extensions soon, but it looks like the heiress is enjoying her newly short hair. I think the shorter length shows off her cheekbones beautifully, but there's something a little Dynasty about the waves she worked for the VMAs. Are you feelin' this hairstyle or not?

One thing I love about Rihanna is her willingness to play with her hair. Not every girl can pull off angular cuts, but she does so with aplomb. This time around, she put a little lightning bolt of blonde in her razored bob. What do you think?

Whoa, Nelly! Remember when Nelly Furtado sported dark hair? Those were the days, because she had some serious color done for tonight's Video Music Awards. Her makeup artists deserves a raise, I think, because her eyes are super-sexy. That shimmery golden shadow and the black eyeliner is H-O-T. As for her hair, it's a bit brassy for my liking, but I can see the look she's going for. You tell me-does it work for you?

"Hi, my name is Nicole Scherzinger and I am a class act." That's what I imagine this Pussycat Doll is thinking to herself. If I had her flawless, glowy skin and beautiful updo, I'd be doing the same thing. Really, I expected her to be among the VMA guests who did the whole raunchy-rocker thing, but instead, she looks stunningly elegant.

Then again, it is the VMAs, so maybe she should have gone for something wilder. What do you think?

Now this is a look we haven't seen on Alicia Keys before. She usually does her hair in a simple straight or curly style, but this braid puts a twist (yuk yuk) on her usual red-carpet 'do . Do you think it's cute, or has she been fallin' (oh, someone stop me with the puns!) into a hair rut?
