A Little Insight Into Oscars Swag

So this is what it's like to be rich and famous: lots of free stuff to make you look even more beautiful! For the sixth year in a row, Victoria's Secret generously gave away a $7,500 gift to all of the Best Actress Oscar nominees.

The gift included an Angels Secret Embrace Strapless Bra, $45, and Very Sexy Diamond Collection Lip Gloss adorned with diamonds and pink sapphires. It was presented to them in a lavish, black leather train case, embossed with their name and upholstered in pink satin.

Since this lip gloss line is not scheduled to launch to the public until April, this elite group of ladies was the first to wear this new gloss infused with genuine crushed diamonds on the red carpet. The gloss is ornamented with a sparkling, pink sapphire “VS” charm, weighing 0.3 carats that can detach from the lip gloss and fasten to the necklace.

Oscars Red Carpet Beauty: How to Get Kate Winslet's Hair

Kate Winslet looked simply radiant at the Oscars Sunday night in her mint green Valentino gown.

I loved her dress, her jewels and her gorgeous and classic hair. Last night I spoke with hairstylist Campbell McAuley, about how he created Kate's old Hollywood style sweeping soft waves secured in a low side chignon. He said,

"Because Kate's dress was lovely and simple, the hair was styled the same way to create an elegant look."

Campbell explained it is crucial to apply a smoothing product when the hair is wet. He used Smooth Hair, $17.50, when the hair is wet. This adds shine and prevents frizz.
Begin by blow drying hair straight. Next, when Campbell was ready to begin styling, he used a medium sized curling iron around the front of her face for volume. Try Enzo Milano's 25 mm Grande Curling Iron, $129.95.
Then, brush out the hair completely until it's smooth and put it in a side ponytail. Then run a nickel sized amount of Technician Color-Protecting Glaze, $20, into the palms of your hands and apply it all over the hair to add even more shine!
Next, add a little extra hair (either a weave or extensions) to the ponytail so that it's fuller and thicker and then shape it into a side knot and secure it with bobby pins.
Lastly, mist hair all over with a light hairspray for hold.

Anne Hathaway looked very pretty Sunday night at the Oscars. She sported red lips, a 14 carat diamond right hand ring and three diamond bracelets from Van Cleef & Arpels.

Although I wasn't totally in love with her Valentino black and white bow dress, overall she presented herself in a very, sophisticated, elegant and age appropriate way. Anne just has a fabulous demeanor about her that makes you appreciate any ensemble she puts together.

Hairstylist, Adir Abergel created Anne's vintage inspired side swept up-do influenced by the classic style of Audrey Hepburn and the screen siren glamour of Rita Hayworth. Begin by parting hair to the side. Then apply Instant Volume Spray by Fekkai, $19.50, to the roots for a full blow dry using The Classic Brush, $95.
Once hair is blown-dry with lots of body, reshape the side part again to really accentuate it.
Next, pull hair back into a modern chignon and fasten to the side with several hair pins. Keep the look soft and sexy with lots of movement.
Lastly, finish with hairspray for a light hold with lots of shine. Bellisima!

Let's see how many trends we can spot in this collage. I spy red lips, blonde hair, blue eyes, thin, tall, lean bodies, long, straight hair and hair pulled to one side. Now if only Nicole Kidman had an Estee Lauder campaign I could have an even seven.

I was guilty of pulling my hair to one side like this when I was twelve years old. It made me feel older, sexier and it also made me look a little like a loser since my head was always tilted sideways. Yet these tall and gorgeous blonde glamazons pull this look off effortlessly - go figure.

Oscars Poll: Which Beyonce Dress Was The Most Fab?

Like Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce Knowles also made three changes last night. The red gown she wore during the Dreamgirls number paled in comparison to these two glamorous gowns, so I've just left that one out.

I think that Beyonce looked amazing in both gowns, but I really like the mint green color of the first one best over this silvery nude dress. This was a tough decision for me - they are both leg-a-licious and hug her tiny waist beautifully. Which dress do you like best?

These ladies really knocked em' dead last night with their red lips. I used to have a theory that red lips only look great on gals with blue eyes, but of course, every rule has an exception. Just look how pretty Anne Hathaway looks at the Oscars.

Straight, sleek, smooth, stately and statuesque. If there was a category for Best Hair, the Academy would surely have another tough decision to make. When your dress speaks volumes then you have to choose an understated hairstyle to balance your look.

Take pointers from these women with long, healthy locks: straight is bellissima! Just ask Gwyneth, Reese, Kelly Preston, Ellen Pompeo, Zizi Zhang and Nicole. I love this look and don't think it's plain at all. What do you think?

Oscars Red Carpet Beauty: How to Get Naomi's Look

Naomi Watts looked gorgeous last night at the 2007 Oscars. She was a glowing vision of gold with her soft wavy hair and her yellow belted dress.

Although it was a bit loose fitting, (is she or isn't she pregnant?!), I feel like she definitely managed to nail the Oscars red carpet one more time!

What I loved most about her look was her perfect makeup and of course her stunning jewelry. Her necklace was by Chopard from a triple strand of 85 carats of diamonds, and her earrings were 12 carats of cushion-cut diamonds that hung on a French wire.

FACE: To create Naomi Watts' dewy look you have to begin with a luminizing foundation. Apply a medium coverage, light color of your choice all over your face and blend well. I like, Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation in none other than 20 Watt!, $35.
EYES:Her eyes are also shimmery, yet they are understated. Since she's a blue eyed beauty, the colors used are brown, peachy neutrals. Try a color quad like Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow, Neutral Khakis, $6.99. Then line your eyes with a rich brown liner such as, Clinique Brush-On Cream Eyeliner in Deep Brown, $14.50. And of course, don't forget to fill in your brows and apply two coats of deep brown/black mascara.
CHEEKS: Dust a bright pink color with a little bit of sparkle on the apples of your cheeks and then strike the brush up your cheekbones towards your ears. Try a color like Nars Powder Blush in Sin, $25, which is a berry with gold shimmer.
LIPS: Naomi's lips are a soft pinky/red color. Try a combo like this to create the same effect.
