Last night at the American Music Awards, Ashanti looked like a golden goddess. Instead of playing it safe and staying subtle with her makeup, she opted to pair metallic gold eyeliner with gorgeous soft pink lips and shimmery pink eyeshadow. Country star Taylor Swift is a teenager, but she's looking quite grown-up at the American Music Awards. I love seeing a curly-haired girl embrace her natural waves, and since she's so young, pulling off ice-blue metallic eyeliner is easy-peasy. I'm just not sure if the wavy hair and the eyeliner and the detailed neckline is too much all at once.

Alicia Keys is looking positively feral at the AMAs—and that's a good thing, if you ask me. The cat-eye eyeliner and extended lashes suit her well, complementing the shimmery eye shadow on her lids. (In fact, I might dig out my Nars Klondike shadow and see if I can mimic Alicia's makeup.) Plus, her hair's got just a little bit of wildness in it—making her one pretty kitty indeed.
