A wide range of personalities and styles stepped onto the American Music Awards red carpet tonight. And while there was some color, the best looks were neutral, black, and all-a-glitter. From Rihanna's laser cut Marchesa to Kristen Bell's cool Christian Cota skirt and top, silhouettes were experimental. Glitzy accessories topped off most of the contender's looks. We're always talking about the ladies, but what about the men? At the 2009 American Music Awards, five stylin' males stood out on the red carpet. Joe Perry played it rock 'n roll cool, Adam Lambert worked his slim suit, Ne-Yo looked spiffy in a two-tone blazer and fedora, Pete Wentz did his military thing, and Keith Urban opted for all black. No doubt, they all dressed to impress, but which stylin' male is most Fab?

Rihanna was winging it at the American Music Awards - or at least her eyeliner was. Most of you were loving this red eyeliner look when Rihanna sported it earlier this week, but this time she's gone for a cool, almost airbrush effect. She keeps the rest of her makeup simple, and her hair is funky but not busy. One thing's for sure: Rihanna always keeps us guessing. Is this another win in your book, or does it strike an off note for you?

Over the past few years, Toni Braxton's hair has gotten both longer and a lot lighter. Here, she's tossed her caramel-toned locks into a loose updo, letting her flawless skin shine through. 2009 American Music Awards: Leona Lewis

The lovely Leona Lewis has, thankfully, recovered from being attacked earlier this year, and she was at her golden girl best on the red carpet tonight. Instead of the gold-toned or smoky eye makeup that usually prevails at awards shows, Leona opted for a bright green shadow that made her eyes stand out beautifully, and she complemented the green with a whisper pink lip and a hint of bronzer on her cheeks. I think the look was lovely, but it wasn't very seasonal. What do you think? Is this makeup pretty no matter what, or is it just too summery for a November television appearance?

Adorable Disney-ite Selena Gomez always looks pretty and age-appropriate when she walks the red carpet. Tonight, she went elegant, wearing her curls in this lovely, loose bun and letting tendrils fall free to frame both sides of her face. I love that her eye makeup was extremely simple and that her lip gloss and blush were both almost sheer. I think she struck a good balance of red carpet glam and young-lady makeup, but what's your opinion? Is this just right for a 17-year-old, or is it too much?
