If you've tried every cleanser, cream, and gel, and your skin is still
breaking out, it might be time to change your thinking. Instead of dabbing your pimples with anti-acne meds to make them disappear, try tackling the problem from the inside out before the spots appear on your face. Australian researchers have found that nourishing your body with
wheat and other whole grains can reduce
acne.

There is a somewhat disturbing article in the October issue of Elle about the author's recent battle with a bout of dematillomania, also known as acne excoriée. Call it what you will, but many people pick at their faces. Some of us gently extract in a magnifying mirror, while others perform minor surgery until we draw blood.

The costume designer for
Annie Hall, Ruth Morley, essentially created androgynous dressing for women. Ok, not literally but Diane Keaton's title character shows how women can wear mens style clothes and still look stylish.
This season as
chinos sneak back in to fashion Annie's style is relevant once again.

Pimple-stopping devices are great — if you can afford to shell out the big bucks for them. In fact, in
comparing Zeno to Thermaclear, one of my main complaints about the otherwise awesome Zeno was its price. Oh, but times have changed!

The problem: You have a pimple. You dab some spot treatment on it, go to bed, and wake up with two problems: the pimple's still there and your beloved designer sheets have streaks of telltale orange from your acne product. Blast!

Due in stores this fall are two new sebum-controlling skin-care products from Darphin called Purifying Targeted Gel ($50) and Overnight Refining Lotion ($50).
The clear, fast-drying gel can be applied to the affected area as often as necessary. The lotion acts as an astringent to kill bacteria and reduce oil production and shine, especially to your
t-zone —all without drying out your face like so many other spot treatments are prone to do.

I've never been one to have consistently gorgeous, glowy skin. It's always either a little bit dry, kind-of blotchy and almost always oily on the nose. Oh, and around that time of the month, you can bank on being able to play a fierce game of connect-the-dots.

Y'know, lipstick and hair talk is all fine and dandy, but sometimes we've got to talk about less-fancy beauty concerns such as
nail fungus and
warts. And ass-ne — yes, pimples on your bum — is one of those. Nobody wants to admit it, but most of us have had a butt blemish in our lives.

You're probably busy with a lot on your plate: exercise, kids, dog, work, grocery shopping, socializing, etc. I'm sure you barely have enough time to shower every day, let alone do all those little household things you're supposed to do like wash out your garbage can (eww mold) and vacuum under your bed (sneaky dust bunnies). Changing my sheets goes along with that, too.

I'm convinced that finding the perfect pair of jeans is almost as tough as searching for a needle in a haystack. I said almost! So when you do track down one that hugs you in all the right places, I advise buying in bulk.
