Aerin Lauder Takes Center Stage

Aerin Lauder is set to be the face of Estee Lauder's new fragrance called Private Collection. She is excited to represent the modern version of her grandmother's most intimate scent, yet she's also a little but timid about exposing her mug in the public eye. According to an interview in British Vogue, Aerin is a private person who doesn't like to expose herself or her family to the scrutiny attached to her famous name.

She is hoping that the demure photograph taken by Craig McDean-one that is intended to resemble one of the more famous photographs ever of Estèe Lauder by Chicago photographer Victor Skrebneski-will give a warm, special and personal touch to the fragrance without putting too much emphasis on herself.

Aerin certainly has some big shoes to fill considering she is following beauties such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Elizabeth Hurley, Carolyn Murphy and Anja Rubik as fragrance models for the company. But something tells me she'll be able to pull it off seamlessly. And now, she's also free to add model to her resume, which is currently headed with Vice President and Creative Director of Estee Lauder. Wow, don't some women make having it all look so easy!

Aerin Lauder Presents Estee Lauder Tuberose Gardenia Private Collection

Aerin Lauder has just launched a new ultra-feminine fragrance called Estee Lauder Tuberose Gardenia Private Collection. The scent bears the same name as the 1973 Private Collection fragrance which Estee had originally created for herself. Like her grandmother, Aerin initially created this scent for herself and her girlfriends. It became so popular within her social set that she decided to bring the scent to the masses.

Lucky for us, because its powerful and full-bodied mix of neroli, lilac, rosewood, tuberose, gardenia, orange flower, jasmine, white lily, carnation and vanilla bourbon is too good to be kept on the down-low. This perfume has serious lasting power, and the floral and woodsy blend is a perfect way to transition from summer to fall.

The exquisite packaging is thoughtful and even sentimental. Like all of Estee Lauder products, gold is the dominant color. This collection has been crafted from clear, heavy square glass bottles with gold caps. The eau de parfum sprays have hammered caps inspired by a necklace that was given to Aerin from her grandmother. The perfume spray and the solid perfume are encrusted with semi-precious gems (aventurine, yellow and green jade, citrine, lemon and mustard stones) which were inspired by a Josef Hoffmann brooch.

The fragrances are available online and at few select high-end stores. The prices are in line with a fancy fragrance: $300 for a one ounce parfum, $120 for a 2.5 oz eau de parfum, $65 for a one ounce eau de parfum, $175 for a solid perfume, and $75 for the body creme. Estee Lauder's Lovely Heritage Collection

New from Estee Lauder is their elegant gold and lapis blue Heritage Collection. Designed by Estee's granddaughter, Aerin Lauder wanted to capture the legendary luxury and classic style, impeccable taste and attention to detail that her grandmother embodied.

The collection includes: white linen solid parfum pendant $150, white linen guest soap set $35, scented candle $50, white linen parfum $90, lipstick and pressed powder set $85, all-day lipstick set $87.50, face glow compact $50, hairbrush $50, and the minaudiere $550.

The packaging is quite exquisite. Everything comes in a large dark blue box with white knots throughout. To open each box there is a dark blue knotted piece of fabric reminiscent of vintage quality and each of the products are encased in sanded, shiny gold fluting. I happen to think that every part of this collection is really special and beautiful. What do you think of it?
