I often wonder if I had the bank account that most celebrities have, would I change my hair color, hairstyle, and/or haircuts with more frequency, too? Part of me says yes, while the other part wonders if I'd actually be that brave. At any rate, it's time to tell us what you think of the following celebrity hairstyle changes. High School Musical's sometime-villainess was a brunette bombshell tonight. The va va voom hair and serious smoky eye made Ashley look distinctly more Hollywood starlet than Disney kid, and Fab is a huge fan of the way she accessorized her outfit. What about you - do you like this sexy look?

Recently, Ashley Tisdale said adios to her golden locks and switched her hair color. Now that she's a brunette, she has a completely different look, and her brown eyes stand out even more. I think she looks more sophisticated with this kind of look, but do you agree?

Love It or Hate It? Ashley Tisdale's MTV VMAs Look

It's a good thing that the High School Musical franchise is soon coming to a close, because Ashley Tisdale is certainly maturing into a beautiful young woman. At the VMAs she's rocking lowlights (which you seem to like a smidgen more than her highlights) with some lighter pieces added in. For her makeup, she went pretty basic and kept the attention on her lips with that shimmery pale pink gloss. Are you still digging the hair color as much as you were last year?

The other day I told you about professional hair extensions guru Sheila Stotts. She is revered in Hollywood as "the hairdresser's hairdresser," because it is in her chair that the first steps of hair magic begin. Sheila lays the foundation by attaching extensions and providing a preliminary cut and/or color before A-listers pay a visit to their favorite specialists for the finishing touches.

I'm still getting used to Ashley Tisdale's reshaped nose, so I didn't recognize her at first. Looks like she has some new lowlights, with Barbarella-style volume in her hair. And I think this is one of the first smoky eyes we've seen all evening. What do you think of this look on her?

Trend Alert: Asymmetric Hair at the American Music Awards

Last night's looks from the American Music Awards were very much your standard red carpet fare - wavy curls from the likes of Taylor Swift and Christina Aguilera or loose updos à la Miley Cyrus. Pretty? Yes. Daring? Not really. However, there were a few ladies that lived up to a more rock-and-roll style. Ashley Tisdale wasn't quite as edgy, but her twisted side ponytail was different and chic, while the others played up short asymmetric styles. Rihanna curled it up, Natasha Bedingfield pieced it out, and Pink did a little of both. I'm liking this slightly off-kilter look - it is the music biz, after all.
