Welcome back to another post in my 2007 holiday gift guide. Judging from your comments, you like what you see so far, but I can't encourage you enough to make some suggestions of your own so everyone who tunes in can read about your faves, too! Today's guide is all about gifts for a baby boy.

If you are like me and don't have children of your own, it can be challenging to find cute and practical presents for babies. A Fragrance for the Very Young: Love, Chic Baby

One scent I always love is that fresh baby smell. There's something about infant-when they're not rocking a poo-filled diaper or bit of spit-up, that is-that smells so clean. But if you think babies smell bad, you can spritz them with Love, Chic Baby. It's a $60 fragrance duo for the stroller set (one is for boys, the other's for girls).

The little-girl scent features pink mandarin, Italian bergamot, water lily, pink peony, yellow freesia, island pineapple, and sheer rose. For baby boys, it's mandarin, orange, pink grapefruit, sweetheart melon, wild strawberry and dew berry.

I haven't smelled this, but I'm intrigued. While I can't imagine spritzing a baby with fragrance, I could see teenagers and younger women pulling off this sort of soft, fruity floral. What do you think?

Gwen Stefani Is Such a Doll

Fresh off the success of her first fragrance, Gwen Stefani is gearing up to launch five - yes, five - new ones based on herself and her backup singers. WWD reports that the Harajuku Lovers collection will encompass five different perfumes: Love, Angel, Music, Baby, and G. And if you ask Gwen, she's amazed that it all came together. She told WWD:

"I didn't think this project would actually come to life. The idea that Coty would let me do five different fragrances for Harajuku Lovers was a fantasy. [But] it really had to be five, because that's what the world is. Each girl has her own personality and sense of style. We're all saying something different with unique personalities."

While I wasn't crazy about the design of L's bottle (and boy, did you tell me how much you disagreed) these doll-shaped bottles are pretty adorable. They'll sell from $25 to $45 each when they launch in September. And as long as Gwen doesn't trot out the Harajuku Girls to coquettishly giggle while promoting the scent, it should go over well. Love is a floral with top notes of sparkling bergamot, pink pomelo, peach and bamboo leaf mist; a heart of watery peony, living hydroponic lace rose, jasmine sambac, nectarine blossom, creamy paperwhites and Egyptian jasmine, and a drydown of petally ylang, creamy vanilla orchid, sensual musk and blond wood.
Lil' Angel is a fruity floral with notes of raspberry, cranberry, blackberry and pineapple; a heart of pear blossom, candied violet and sugared rose, and a drydown of lollipop accord, hinoki wood and crystal amber.
Music has top notes of clementine and sparkling pear; a heart of jasmine sambac, sweet pea and honeysuckle, and a drydown of vanilla, skin musk and sleek woods.
Baby, has top notes of freesia, bergamot and white rose; a heart of orange flower, tiare flower and jasmine petals, and a drydown of white musk, soft woods, heliotrope, vanilla and violet.
G has top notes of crisp mandarin, fresh coconut and apple skin; a heart of jasmine sambac, soft freesia and magnolia vapor, and a drydown of coconut cream, white sandalwood and cottonwoods.

Beauty Mark It Results: The Best Eye Makeup Remover

After running out of my favorite eye makeup remover, I turned to you for help choosing a new one. Boy, did you all deliver! A lot of you praise oil-based cleansers for their effectiveness, like waterbaby, who uses Johnson's Baby Oil in Lavender, saying that "the lavender is great before bedtime!" If you have sensitive skin, magalaya recommends Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Milk, which is also ideal for the occasional late night out, since "this remover can be tissued off your face if you're too tired to rinse."

Thank you so much for all your great suggestions. Call me a product geek, but I'm actually excited to go home and take off my eye makeup tonight!

Do You Prefer Keri's Hair Curly or Straight?

Keri Russell was all smiles arriving in Los Angeles yesterday with her baby boy River. (I wish I could look that beautiful coming off a long flight, right?) Her hair was straight but had a little bit of bounce to it-a style that we've seen more and more of on her recently. I'm not sure why Felicity-I mean, Keri-keeps her hair straight, since she has such nice curls. On the left we see her looking a little more natural on the set of The Girl in the Park a few months earlier. Which hairstyle do you like better on Keri?

School Stinks. Literally.

It's back-to-school time, and students are filling classrooms once again. Unfortunately for perfumed pupils, some school districts are considering banning fragrance on campus. The Wall Street Journal reports that as fragrances for teenagers become more popular, the kids are stinkin' up the place:

Kevin Farr, superintendent of the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School, in Bourne, Mass., started a campaign last year to educate students about what he says is excessive use of body sprays and perfumes. He says the problem is compounded when kids use them in place of soap. "Kids don't shower the way they used to," he says, adding that boys in particular are clouding themselves in body sprays, such as Axe, to cover up perspiration odors after gym class.

This doesn't surprise me, really; I remember how after high school gym class, nobody wanted to shower in front of everyone else. Instead, people quickly slapped on a little Teen Spirit, then quickly dressed in our non-gym clothes. And I'm sure many girls spritzed Love's Baby Soft and the like back then, too. My guess is that times haven't changed, but because marketers are targeting teenagers more aggressively these days, students are more likely to experiment with different scents. If you were a teacher-or a student-do you think something should be done about the smells, or are people overreacting? Source
