Welcome back to another post in my 2007 holiday gift guide. Judging from your comments, you like what you see so far, but I can't encourage you enough to make some suggestions of your own so everyone who tunes in can read about your faves, too! Today's guide is all about gifts for a baby boy.

What do you buy for the baby who has it all, the mom who has everything or for your own little pee-wee who you just can't not pamper? I admit, this is the epitome of indulgence, but aren't all beauty products? Here's a look at a few designer products for the boo!

A Fragrance for the Very Young: Love, Chic Baby

One scent I always love is that fresh baby smell. There's something about infant-when they're not rocking a poo-filled diaper or bit of spit-up, that is-that smells so clean. But if you think babies smell bad, you can spritz them with Love, Chic Baby. It's a $60 fragrance duo for the stroller set (one is for boys, the other's for girls).

The little-girl scent features pink mandarin, Italian bergamot, water lily, pink peony, yellow freesia, island pineapple, and sheer rose. For baby boys, it's mandarin, orange, pink grapefruit, sweetheart melon, wild strawberry and dew berry.

I haven't smelled this, but I'm intrigued. While I can't imagine spritzing a baby with fragrance, I could see teenagers and younger women pulling off this sort of soft, fruity floral. What do you think?

Now that the ~~extremely~~ somewhat forced romance between Kristin and Justin Bobby has ended, it looks like The Hills main character is on to the next - namely Brody. All the while, Heidi still has baby fever, prompting Spencer to visit a urologist to see what he can do to prevent a gaggle of Pratts. After finding out that the procedure is not always reversible, Spencer has a change of heart. In the meantime, a girl fight breaks out between Kristin and Jayde at a club, and Audrina and Justin Bobby have a not-so-pleasant reunion. Do You Use Baby Products?

Lately, I've become quite a fan of Perfumer & Flavorist magazine's website. Yeah, I'm not a subscriber so I can't delve into each of their interesting articles about, well -the perfume and flavor industries. But the other day, when I came across the magazine's list of winners from the 2008 Perfumer's Choice Awards, I decided to try out one of their selections. They are the experts, after all.

Best classic fine women's fragrance? Estée Lauder Beautiful. Best Baby/Children Fragrance? Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Bath ($4.99). So, I went and did what any other adult would do. I bought the baby bath. I've been a fan of Johnson's Baby Shampoo ($4.49) for years, particularly as a makeup brush cleaner, with amazing (and sweet smelling) results. As for the bedtime bath? The aroma was fresh and soothing, and I felt very rested that night. And since I really like the gentle nature of baby products, I plan on keeping this one in regular rotation. How about you?

Hair Gel: It's Now For Babies, Too

It makes sense for certain beauty products to be made for babies. Gentle baby shampoos, fragrance-free lotions, and paraben-free soaps all seem like reasons to infantilize grownup products. But Le Baby Hair Gel is pushing the limits. Free of parabens, fragrance, and sulfates, the $9.95 formula was developed for babies, toddlers, and anybody else who has sensitive skin.

Founder Tami Dimmerman came up with the concept while attempting to find a gel to tame her daughter's flyaways. Le Baby promises to "thicken baby-fine hair," among other things. But is a hair gel for babies even necessary? I've never looked into a designer stroller and thought, "Cute kid. If only he had a fauxhawk." Would you use this on a child, or do you prefer to let little ones' hair run wild?

Love's Baby Soft: Does 15 Years Make a Difference?

On my way to the Sugar headquarters today, I stopped into my neighborhood drugstore to scope out the fragrance scene. Since I've been on this major old-school kick lately, not just any old fragrance would do. Nope, I was aiming for the perfume I bathed in back in junior high: Love's Baby Soft. The goal? To see if my adult sense of smell would recoil at the BS, or if I'd fall back in love with the nostalgic aroma.

The classic powdery smell in the dome-shaped pink bottle sure brought back memories (cue MC Hammer tunes, Guess? sweatshirts, and Keds). Launched in 1972, this feminine scent is a mix of powdery florals, along with wood and "animal scents." (I hope that means musky.)

Would I wear it again? Enh. While it was fun to take a trip down memory lane, I'm looking for something with a little more bite - something that lasts longer than an episode of The Hills and doesn't make me smell quite as girly. So, I did a little research into powdery fragrances that would be a better fit for more grown-up tastes:

Kenzo FlowerbyKenzo ($25 to $85).
Guerlain Shalimar ($52 to $65).
Carolina Herrera 212 Collection ($44 to $79).
Donna Karan Cashmere Mist ($48 to $90).

I'd also feel a little dirty buying Love's Baby Soft. I think we can all agree that this advertisement turns the creepy factor up to 11.

Get The Most From Your Makeup: Baby Powder

For all of you who thought that the function of baby powder was to keep your feet, underarms, backs of your knees cool and dry, I've got one more for you. You can use baby powder on the roots of your hair!

Say you are feeling a little greasy in between washings, or you overdid it on the styling products. Just put a little powder on your comb and brush from roots to ends. This will help absorb any unwanted greasiness.

It is the same concept as using a dry shampoo, only baby powder isn't going to cleanse your hair or make it smell as good as a hair fragrance would. However, it will get you through the day feeling slightly more refreshed, and your hair will definitely be softer and more manageable.
