Yesterday, a friend pointed out her new mascara. She was wearing Benefit Bad Gal Blue, a violet-blue hue that's said to brighten the appearance of eyes. I haven't had much confidence with it-I'm worried that blue mascara will make me look like Whitney Houston circa "How Will I Know?", which is not my prerogative-but the whites of my friend's eyes did look bright. (Then again, they usually do.)

Well, it turns out the blue trend is going over very well: More than 130,000 units of Bad Gal Blue were sold during the first two weeks.
