Do You Shower With Your Significant Other?

Lately, this is a topic that has surfaced more frequently than I care to admit. You see, Mr. Bella has taken an informal survey of various friends and co-workers to find out if showering together gets a thumbs up or a thumbs down. Many people agree that it's a no-no because someone always ends up shivering on the non-water flowing side and/or it's just too slippery or time consuming for it to be any fun.

On the affirmative end, others think it's romantic, sexy, and a great way to get those hard-to-reach areas washed. So, what do you think? Whether you're single or in a relationship, do you like a shower buddy or do you prefer to go solo?

Do Brunettes Make Better Wives?

How about blondes - do they make better girlfriends? Well, yes and yes. At least that's what the results of a new survey say. According to British hairstylist Andrew Collinge, whose company polled 3,000 men, "When it comes to marriage, men seem to opt for brunettes as they see them as more dependable and down-to-earth."

We've all heard the expression that blondes have more fun, and in this case, that means more dates, but does it also mean a walk down the aisle? Survey says. . . no. In fact, more than half of the blokes said that brunettes were marriage material due their dependable and sensible natures.

Let's get real, though: This type of thinking is antiquated. We all know it's really what's on the inside that matters (at least that's what mama always said). And as Collinge so wisely advises, "At the end of the day, men marry a person, not just a head of hair." I've got to agree with that - so what's with these surveys in the first place? Beauty Byte: Men Barely Spend Anything on Grooming. Shocker!

For years and years, cosmetics companies have been trying to get men to buy into skin care. For a moment there, it seemed like the metrosexual might make it all work. Alas, the metrosexuals have dwindled in number. A new report reveals that British men have responded to grooming hopes with a big "no dice."

Marketing group Mintel has released survey results that reveal:

The average British man spends less than $5 a year taking care of his skin.
Thirty-five percent of British men feel that it's important to look young, but 55 percent of French and Spanish men do.
The male skincare market is worth less than one tenth of the women's equivalent.

I'm not surprised by these findings, since most men I know have to be told that Irish Spring is not so great for their skin. Doubt I'm the only one wondering, "And they had to do a survey for this information?!" Please. Hand me a tweed jacket and I'll play Professor Bella, whose work on Obvious Male Behavior will be no doubt groundbreaking. Wink.
