I am taking getting ready for summer pretty darn seriously. With the weather just starting to warm up coupled with the fact that it's Spring now, it's time to get ready for some safe fun in the sun. I've talked about some necessary facial sunscreens, some great new bronzers, a few fab bronzing gels, and now it's time for pretty golden bronzing powders! Here's a look at the latest:

Estee Lauder Loose Shimmer Bronzer, $32.50, will give you a gorgeous and radiant sun-kissed look to your face. It is ultra sheer that is heavily pigmented and has a silky soft finish.

It's oil free (awesome) and feels very light on your skin. Also, this baby doesn't streak when you apply it which is tres fab!

Guerlain Terracotta Khol Loose Powder, $32, is a loose powder packaged quite elegantly in a jewel vial with an application brush included on the inside. Ooh la la!

It is formulated with a high concentration of pigments to create a deep golden glow and will stay put for hours. Available in one color only.

Laura Mercier Shimmer Loose Powder, $34, is a soft shimmery powder that you can use on your face and body. It is made from a super fine powder that glistens on your skin.

It's not orangey looking and if you apply it to the parts of your face where the sun would hit normally - it looks incredibly natural. Enjoy!

Finding the perfect neutral lip gloss is always one of those "Score!" kind of moments. That’s exactly why Glambitious gives five stars to Jordana InColor Lip Shine Shimmer Glaze in Sugar Cookie. She said:

I am such a lip gloss junkie! I actually purchased this in bulk on clearance at my local Walgreens. It glides on smoothly, isn't sticky, and gives your lips the megawatt glossy factor. Compare it to a pale nude/bronze lip. If you dust a bit of translucent powder on your lip before applying the gloss, it lasts for a few hours. I love the Jordana cosmetic line. How-To: Wear Shimmer Without Going Overboard

This New Year's Eve, I'm planning on doing a super low-key gathering with some friends since I have to I have to catch a flight the next day. Plane ride plus hangover? No thanks. It is the new year after all, and that means it's a shimmer celebration.

Just like you'll be sure to "know when to say when" when it comes to boozy drinks tonight, you'll know "when to say when" when it comes to the sparkly goodness of shimmer with my tips below. Keep in mind that rules are meant to be broken, and makeup should always be expressive. But, for the most flattering look - pick one (two, tops) feature to add shimmer to, such as lips, eyes, cheeks, body, and/or complexion, and roll with it.

Shimmer or glitter?: Glitter is the more amped-up version of shimmer. While glitter is OK in small, small doses - like a sweep of Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner ($18) paired with a soft eyeshadow - it can look too Hot Topic when heavily applied.
Family jewels: When wearing sparkly cosmetics, keep your jewelry to a minimum. You don't want your fabulous face competing with your ginormous sparkly earrings.
Body glow: For some overall brightening, apply a shimmering lotion to your arms, legs, and/or décolleté. Try Jergens Soft Shimmer Skin Radiance Moisturizer ($5.12). You can also make your own by mixing a shimmery product with your body cream.

Bronzed goddess: Sweep a shimmering bronzer on your forehead, cheeks, and jawline in a "3" motion for a sexy, healthy glow. Try Jane Shimmering Powder ($4.19), and then add a pop of blush on the apples of your cheeks.
Highlight: To brighten up your face, apply a highlighter on the inner corners of the eyes, the upper cheekbones, and the brow bone. I like Aveda Shimmer Accents ($21.50), which are light enough to mix with your foundation or moisturizer.
Nail it: Butter London's Lacquer Duo Holiday Set ($20) has just the right amount of holiday pizazz.
Shiny lips: If you're not feeling shimmer on the body or face, why not apply a some sparkly gloss on top of your lipstick? Try Stila Silk Shimmer Gloss ($22), which is inspired by its famous eyeshadow shade, Kitten. Me-ow.

So, let's move on to the nitty-gritty and bring it all together with some makeup shades picked by Chad himself, along with some other options I found.

Coming Soon: Estee Lauder Summer 2008 Bronze Goddess Collection

If you're craving color, consider your needs met. At the end of the month, Estee Lauder is launching its new Summer 2008 Bronze Goddess Collection, a limited-edition group of bronze, gold and fuchsia products. It differs from last year's collection because those colors were more coral and coppery, but the luxe, brown and gold flecked tortoise shell packaging on the specialty items is the same.

The line includes new shades of nail lacquers, lip glosses, lip balms, eye shadows, powder and liquid bronzers, an oil spray, and body lotion. My favorite product in the the bunch is the new Sheer Lip Tint in Fuchsia. It's creamy, subtle, and it contains SPF 15. There's also a new summertime scent in to accompany the collection called Bronze Goddess Fragrance - but more on that later.

We all know Keshia Knight Pulliam as the adorable Rudy from The Cosby Show, and now, she's all grown up. If you can believe it, the beautiful actress just turned 30. Over the weekend, Keshia celebrated this milestone birthday with a celebration in Las Vegas, wearing her long dark hair in a straight, sleek style with trendy bangs.

As for her makeup, the focus was on her heavily lined eyes, as she kept her lips pink and glossy, along with a bronzed complexion. For ideas on how to achieve this fun makeup look at home, read more.

Complexion: Apply a cream-to-powder foundation to even out skin tone and mask imperfections. Try City Base Compact Foundation SPF 15 ($22.50), or for a more affordable version, try CoverGirl Smoothers AquaSmooth Foundation ($10).
Eyes: Generously brush on a shimmering pale eye shadow like Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Champagne Quartz ($20) from the lashes, tapering off towards the brows. Heavily line around the lashes and waterline with a smudgy black pencil. Try Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in Black ($17). Next, apply some false lashes for added drama.
Lips: Since it's all about the eyes, keep the lips toned down with Almay Pure Blends Lip Gloss Color in Petal ($8), a basic, subdued pink.

They are intended to be applied with a giant kabuki brush for your face and your body, for all over glow, but my goodness, I am not sure who's going to be schlepping those babies around in their cosmetics cases! They are great to help enhance a summer tan and contour your cheekbones, jaw line and decolletage. Enjoy!
