Summer 2007 Giorgio Armani Bronze Mania Collection

The 2007 summer collection from Giorgio Armani Beauty is called Bronze Mania. It was inspired by the colors of the glorious beaches, vast sands and bright prominent flowers of the Mediterranean. Comprised of golds, chocolates, reds and mauves, everything has a metallic sheen to make your summer skin glisten.

The limited edition collection includes a new Shine Lipstick ($25) two new Lip Shimmers ($26), a redding brown Maestro Mascara ($26), three new Golden Eye Shadows ($24), Bronze Mania Face and Body Gel ($80), a double cream blush compact called Bronzing Face Duo ($65) and two shades of cream to powder Summer Foundation ($55).

The last product in the collection is the Gold Mediterranean Palette ($85). The top level includes four eye shadows formulated with mother-of-pearl in gold copper brown, orange gold, nude gold beige and sparkling gold earth and the bottom level houses a sheer powder bronzer. All of the products are an absolutely stunning and worthwhile summer indulgence!

Seeing in Black and White

I love color as much as the next gal, but there's also so much appeal in a classic black and white color palette. This look may seem predictable, but it has as many variations as the number of patterns it can be added to. From scripted print to a kilim or even barcode, black and white can go from modern to historic in the blink of an eye.

Start your pattern matching with this gorgeous Kilim Sofa (inquire for price) from Andrew Martin. Its vibrant pattern would make this the centerpiece of a room. Add a pop of color with bright pillows and use tray tables, solid wool rugs, leather poufs, and bronze chandeliers for a travel-inspired sanctuary of a space.

A long-time favorite of mine is the Manuscrit Rug. ($3,400) from Design Within Reach. Architect, designer, filmmaker, and writer Joaquim Ruiz Millet created this rug in 2003, and the imagery on its woolen surface is actually a romantic poem that he wrote in his native Catalan.

Chic Twists and Braided Buns at Rachel Roy

Spring 2012 Fashion Week has produced some of the most wearable makeup and hairstyles around, and now you can place Rachel Roy's Spring 2012 show beauty look in your must-try file. Inspired by the modern, Asian influences seen in Rachel's collection, hair guru Ted Gibson developed a style that was a mix between both masculine (the sleekness at the front) and feminine (the twisted, braided bun).

He began by prepping the models' hair with his brand's Fix It Gel. Once the hair was blow-dried, he created a side part, twisted the sides back, and then braided the hair into a bun at the nape; Tame It lotion provided shine, while Beautiful Hold hair spray kept it all in place. A big silver barrette attached at the back proved to be a chic finishing touch.

For the makeup, Bobbi Brown went for a more monochromatic look, with Rose Gold lip gloss ("It looks good on everyone," Brown says) on the lips and Rose Gold eye shadow (available for Spring) on the lids. Various shades in the Bronze Shimmer Brick were applied to the eyes to adapt the color based around the models' skin tones. And if you're not one for dramatic daytime makeup looks, do what Brown did for the show: in lieu of liner, use an intensive black mascara (her version is out in Spring) to bring out the eyes and provide contrast to the pink tones.

A sneak peek at the collection reveals easy-to-wear, no-fuss products such as face and body glow, lip gloss, and eye shadow palettes - all designed with Charlotte's friends and family in mind. Look for a lightweight finishing powder inspired by Rashida Jones, gloss created for sister Samantha Ronson, and what may well be the highlight of the bunch: the eye shadow quad ($22) shown here. The warmed, bronzed colors were made for Nicole Richie, but the slightly shimmery shades are gorgeous enough to make anyone feel like part of the cool crowd.
