Burberry to Launch Its Own Cosmetics Line

Oct 23, 2009 - If you already love your Burberry trench, scarf, bikini, and handbag, get ready to add makeup to your collection, because WWD is reporting that the company has just announced the colors for its cosmetics line, which is slated to arrive in July 2010. Philippe Benacin, chairman and managing director of Inter Parfums SA, says the collection will be "a complete color line with about 100 references for eyes, lips, and skin" and will be carried at Nordstrom. My question is, though, how will Burberry create makeup that's any better than what a company that specializes in the products does? - 6 Comments

Coming Soon: Burberry Gets Ready To Launch The Beat

Dec 20, 2007 - I don't quite know all of the details yet, but from what I understand, Burberry is getting ready to launch its sixth fragrance called The Beat in March. The scent is said to be a woodsy, sparkling and tea-infused (how very English!) juice created by Dominique Ropion, Olivier Polge and Beatrice Piquet. It contains notes of iris, bluebell, ceylon tea, bergamot, cardamom, pink pepper, mandarin, vetiver, white musk and cedarwood — and to give you an idea of the pretense under which it was born, the perfumers were given modern rock music for inspiration. - 9 Comments
