2009 People's Choice Awards: Carrie Underwood

While the first thing I noticed were those shimmery shoulders, I approve of Carrie Underwood's subtle sparkle instead of glitter galore. Her hair cascades in softer waves (compared to the big styles she often favors), and pulling up those long bangs with extra lift really brings the emphasis to her face.

Which brings me to that makeup. With mascara-heavy lashes and thickly lined eyes, her eyes do pop, but is it too pageant-y? You be the judge.

Trend Alert: Nude Lips at Idol Gives Back

Sunday night in Hollywood sure isn't anything as relaxed as spaghetti night in my house. Instead, stars and American Idol supporters arrived to the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles for the taping of the philanthropic Idol Gives Back show.

Most of the women were wearing a pale, nude-colored lip. This super-hot beauty trend has been prevalent at the Oscars, the VMAs, the Teen Choice Awards, and the MTV Awards. You've even beauty marked dozens of your favorite nude lip shades!

My personal picks are Scott Barnes Lip Slicks in Suggestive and Provocative. Which celebrity singer do you think wore the most natural shade of nude lipstick last night?

Carrie Underwood knows how to ramp up the glam for a red carpet event. Big shiny hair? Check. Sparkly dress? Check. Glittering jewelry? Check.

But for a girl so young and naturally beautiful, I wish she would chill with the makeup just a tad. Still, it's hard to deny that she does look quite ravishing, even if she does come off looking a few years older than she actually is. What do you think of Carrie's look?

Carrie Underwood walked the red carpet ready for spring in her lwd. The same can be said for her choice of makeup. And while my girl Fab isn't loving her dress, I'm definitely liking her look from the neck up. Her fresh face is given a rosy kiss with just a hint of blush, her lips look subtle and sweet, but what I'm loving is what she's done around the eye. She went for a dramatically dark liner but added a hint of shimmery white underneath the eye to really make the eye pop. I'm liking her look; are you?
