January Jones has always been a fashion risk taker, but in the past most of her daring hair and makeup has had a vintage homage feel that dovetailed nicely with her role in Mad Men. Now, though, it looks like she's gone back to the future with the new cotton-candy-hued highlights she showed off at a PaleyFest 2012 event honoring the show.

January certainly isn't the only star who has tried pink hair. Dianna Agron, Katy Perry, and Nicki Minaj have all tried the shade lately. January's look is a little more subtle, though, and is reminiscent of the pink hue Rachel McAdams sported a few years back. Betty Draper might not approve, but it looks like January is showing the rest of us how to make an edgy hair color more wearable.

Get Emma Stone's Lovely Looped Oscars Bun

Emma Stone had the perfect makeup and updo at the Oscars: tasteful and chic, but still young and a little different. For the hair, celebrity stylist Mara Roszak got inspired by the blousy bow on Emma's red Giambattista Valli gown. "The bow on the dress reminded me of a flower," Roszak says, "and the bun in the back went from ear to ear to look like a flower with a loose and fresh feel." To create the style, Roszak began by using Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment on wet hair from ends up.

Once Emma's hair was blow-dried, Roszak added a simple part in the front. Then, to form Emma's piled-on bun, she pulled her hair into a midheight ponytail, began wrapping pieces of hair loose and wide, and secured each piece with bobby pins. Roszak topped the look off with Couture Colour Pequi Oil Finishing Polish.

Kate Bosworth's Waves Made Easy

Kate Bosworth is always impeccably dressed and flawlessly complected, but it was her soft, slightly waved hairstyle, which she wore at a recent event feting Charlie Chaplin, that stood out most. This lightly textured coiffure is surprisingly easy to do at home; as it turns out, it's all in the sectioning.

The prep: Kate's go-to stylist, Luke Chamberlain, started by applying Leonor Greyl Volumatrice Mousse on four preparted portions of hair. He then blow-dried her strands section by section, using a medium-barreled, boar-bristle round brush for volume.
The finish: "After the blowout, I took large vertical sections and only curled the ends, allowing them to cool in one-inch Velcro rollers," Chamberlain explained. Once set, he removed the rollers, brushed out Kate's hair, and added some Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray for a slightly undone feeling. And that's how you, too, can make waves.
