How to Get Salt-y Lips Like Angelina

So I went to a preview of Salt the other night. You'll have to check out BuzzSugar's review on Friday, but I will share this: the movie presents Angelina Jolie looking like you've never seen her before. Of course, her trademark pillowy lips are as attention-grabbing as ever. Makeup artist Toni G used Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss ($28) in Charm, a pale pink shade, on Angelina during filming. As far as how Angelina's character had time to apply perfect black eyeliner while on the lam, that's one mystery that I have yet to solve.

Even if you’re not typically a coral kind of gal, trust me when I say that you’ll love the way they look with a little bit of mascara and some bronzer in the summertime. Coral has that je ne sais quoi to make tanned skin look all the more radiant. Below are my favorite coral lipsticks, They are a little deeper than peach lipgloss without being overly orange. Do you prefer one lipstick color over another in certain seasons?

Stila Lip Color in Miranda ($17) is a shiny, creamy and super-sheer everyday coral lipstick. Last year, it was so popular that it was honored as one of In Style's Best of Beauty Buys. It's a good choice if you want to ease into the color trend.
Chantecaille Lip Chic in Geranium ($30) is a sheer, rich nudey-coral. This creamy formula stays moist for hours and looks great worn alone or with a sheer gloss on top.
I've already told you how gorgeous the new, creamy Diane Von Furstenberg Volcano Lipstick ($18) is. This golden, pale coral-peach shade looks killer paired with black mascara and bronzer.
Guerlain KissKiss Stick Gloss in Mango Fizz ($30) is a sheer and shiny hydrating lipstick that contains just a little bit of maxi-lip for plumpness without having too much of a tingle.

Bella Bargain: Half-Price Chantecaille

Chantecaille is a lovely luxury brand, but with $90 compacts, it's rare that I actually get to use its products. But I'm willing to guess that you're as excited as I am to find two items for half price.

Poudre Delicate (originally $55, now $27.50) is a sheer powder with very fine shimmer on top. You can use it as a finishing powder, and it'll help reflect light off of your skin. Then, these butterfly eye shadows (originally $39, now $19.50 each) are just gorgeous. They use two shades throughout the compact, with a bit more shadow colors used in the butterfly detail. Normally, this would be something I'd just gaze at lovingly, but now that it's on sale, I may just have an excuse - er, a reason-to pick one up.

Coming Soon: Protected Paradise Eyes and Face Compacts

This March, Chantecaille will release two palettes for spring called Protected Paradise Eyes and Protected Paradise Face. Made from finely milled, highly pigmented illuminating powders, each palette is embossed with intricate marine ecosystem images that reflect the colors from clothing seen on the Spring 2008 runways.

Both of the compacts have the same design, but they incorporate different colors. Once you open up the neat nickel top you'll find images of two fish that represent endangered species, a school of smaller fish, a sea horse, coral and sea grass. Each of these images has been chosen to depict some of the most important parts of aquatic life that are currently being threatened by humans.

Both compacts sell for $90 each. Five percent of proceeds will be donated to the Pew Fellowship in Marine Conservation, which supports research pertaining to marine preserves and fish sustainability. For a description of the colors used in each of the palettes,

Protected Paradise Face contains shimmery sheer coral and pink shades as well as gold which can be used a a highlighter. Also, it comes with a large pouf that can be used to create a healthy glow all over the face and décolletage.
Protected Paradise Eyes contains a pale gray base color with a marine green-tinted overlay. One of the fish is a shade of aqua that can be used as an eye shadow or eyeliner and the other fish is a rosy gold that can be used to highlight the brow bone or the inner corners of the eyes. This palette comes equipped with an eyeliner brush as well as a basic shadow brush.

It’s a fun and sexy way to spice up your look for a party without going too over-the-top. Here are three gold eyeliners, I think you’ll love just as much as I do.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Honey 24K Gold ($15) is a really smooth and creamy eyeliner that mostly dries after about 30 seconds, and then stays put to a smudge- and water-proof finish. This specific color is really vibrant and looks especially amazing on those with blue eyes.

Butterflies are naturally synonymous with Spring. After sitting cocooned in sweaters and blankets all winter long, we get out the colorful cosmetics and flutter out at the first signs of sunshine. So it's fitting that the creatures are showing up in Spring makeup with butterfly imagery stamped right onto eye shadows. Here are two ways to get your butterfly fix.

Flower Power Makeup Part III: Palettes

Welcome to the final installment of flower power makeup. This post includes two beautiful palettes embossed with floral designs. By the way, palettes make for great Mother's Day gifts if you are already thinking of ideas. Enjoy and please let me know what you think!

I just love the look of this brand new for Spring Chantecaille Les Roses Palette, $105. Although it's expensive, it actually is cheaper to purchase the palette than it is to buy all of the colors separately.

The shades chosen are all very wearable, and the full rose on the blush and bronzer adds a sweet and feminine touch. I happen to really like this brand a lot. I haven't tried this yet, but I can't wait to check it out.

Prescriptives Colorscope Set, $50, so reminds me of a flower! I can't be certain if it's a flower, star or sun, so I've taken creative freedom positioning it here. I'm a big Prescriptives fan and I really like the plum family of colors they have put together.

I have also seen this palette in more of a neutral tone, but I can't seem to find it online anymore - maybe it's sold out. It also comes with a double sided shadow and contour brush. I can't wait to hear what you think.
