How-To: Leighton Meester's Copper-Toned Glow

Looks like Leighton got the memo, as she's matched her lipstick to her dress at last night's Chloé opening in LA. The actress chose to stick to a more toned-down feel, opting for muted orange cheeks and lips to match her dress.

Wearing makeup tones in the same color family creates a cohesive, natural look. By wearing just a touch of shimmering shadow on the lids, Leighton takes the look to nighttime glamour without overdoing it. Cheeks: Give yourself a burst of glowing color on the cheeks with a creamy-textured blush. I like Avon Be Blushed Cheek Color in Tropical Peach ($6).
Lips: Add a little spice to your lips with a soft, warm shade with orange undertones. Try Stila Lip Glaze in Cinnamon ($22) or CoverGirl Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers Lip Gloss in Tangerine Splash ($5).
Eyes: Apply a glittery or shimmery copper shadow to the lids, such as Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Chopper ($16). Next, apply a rich brown shadow to the crease and blend, using this same shade to lightly line around the eyes for emphasis. Try L'Oreal Wear Infinite Single Eye Shadow in Deep Mocha ($4.25). Add a little brownish-black mascara, and you'll be good to go.

Love It or Hate It: Nicky Hilton's Shorter Style

It's hard for me to remember a time that Nicky Hilton didn't have long locks. I do recall her short stint as a brunette a few years ago, though we almost always see the socialite as a blonde. Now, she's switched it up again, debuting this slightly ashy-toned shoulder-grazing style at last night's Chloé opening boutique party in LA. What do you think of Nicky's new sleek cut? Is it a keeper, or do you think long locks are the way to go?

Fragrance Review: Chloé

The much-hyped Chloé fragrance has been on my radar for some time now, but I hadn't gotten a chance to give it a sniff until today. While I don't loathe it like The Moment does, I'm underwhelmed.

It had great potential, being the brainchild of a fashion house known for its ethereal creations. Michel Almairac, creator of Gucci Rush, developed this scent, so I hoped for something similarly complex and pleasing. Unfortunately, Chloé lacks the nuance I'd expect for its high price tag. Instead, it smells overwhelmingly like musky rose. There are some notes of spiciness in there, but nothing mind-blowingly unique.

Plus, I can't shake the feeling that I've smelled this somewhere before. I was having a sniff when Katie Sugar's babysitter walked by and said, "Whoa, something smells like B.O." I think she was talking about Taco Thursday at Sugar HQ, but her remark suddenly helped me identify the mental association I had with the fragrance. Chloé reminds me of sitting too close to a sweet little old lady who hasn't showered, but who's instead doused herself in copious amounts of perfume. The fragrance itself is not unpleasant at all, but I have the sneaking suspicion it's covering up something that is.

You may have remembered the earlier perfume by Chloé called Chloé, but the company joined forces with Michel Almairac (the creator of Farenheit for Dior, Gucci Rush and Kiton) to create a new version of the discontinued fragrance. The redesigned bottle has similar lines to the hugely successful Heloise bag.

The floral scent has a rose base, with notes of peony, lychee, freesia, magnolia, and lily of the valley. Amber and cedar wood might temper those florals, but that's a lot of competing floral scents. An early review gives Chloé a big thumbs down, describing it as an "an uninteresting, clichéd floral that smells like a perfume masquerading as a fabric softener." Yikes.

You can smell for yourself in February, when Chloé ($110) lands in Saks Fifth Avenue. I'm interested in smelling this solely because I like the bags, shoes and clothes-so I'm hoping it's not as awful as it sounds. Are you excited about Chloé? (And Harry Potter fans, check out who's in the ads!)

Love It or Hate It? Chloë's Chloé Ad

Nope, that's not a typo in the title. Chloë Sevigny ads for the forthcoming Chloé fragrance are out, and although the fragrance won't be in stores until March, you can peek at the photography now. I'm not always a fan of Chloë, but this shot is amazing - her full brows are especially pretty. What do you think of Chloë for Chloé?

Estee Lauder Creates a Fresh Light Breeze

Pure White Linen Light Breeze is the latest fragrance launch from the Estee Lauder Pure White Linen Collection. The scent is just as crisp, and feminine as the pretty ad where Gwyneth Paltrow is lounging in a white linen Chloe dress. The scent's tagline is "The fragrance inspired by the days you’ll want to relive forever." And hey, if I were Gwyneth, I'd like to lie there forever, too.

Pure White Linen Breeze is a lighter variation of the original White Linen and Pure White Linen fragrances. It's a little bit younger and also a little bit greener since it contains lots of florals, citrus and woods. It's a blend of Darjeeling tea, Italian bergamot, grapefruit, orange zezt, kumquat, osthmanthus, yellow freesia, neroli, linden flowers, rose, cedar wood, teak wood, skin accord and ambrosial acacia honey.

I like this fragrance because it captures the smell of a fresh day in a garden when it's warm and comfortable, but not overly hot. While it's not beachy or coconutty, it manages to transport you to those balmy afternoons when you sit in the grass or in a garden and relax.

Estee Lauder Pure White Linen Light Breeze is available as a body lotion ($36) and in three bottled sizes ($35–$65). I'd love to hear your thoughts on this scent, so please leave a comment when you have the chance to test it out.
