Countless praises have been sung for Clarisonic, the cult-favorite sonic skin cleansing brush. But until now, the acne-addled haven't had a version that targets their complexion condition. Enter the newest incarnation of the Mia 2 brush and salicylic acid-infused cleanser ($169), which aims to keep blemishes at bay. We gave the brush a spin (courtesy of public relations), and like the original, it removes the dirt and makeup that doesn't always come off through washing by hands alone. The new brush head ($25) is softer than the original, though, and it's especially gentle for anyone who's experiencing stubborn blackheads or painful nodules. While no product will produce flawless skin overnight, with consistent use, having clearer skin may only be a matter of time.

Apparently, on the other side of the pond, British women are ditching medispa and salon services for a wide variety of at-home gadgets that promise similar results. Americans have also seen more home-use beauty tech lately, from the Clarisonic to the SensEpil I'm testing right now, but I'm not sure the shift has been as big. Given the recession, it makes sense that more women would be treating themselves at home, but given the high price of a lot of the gadgets on the market, there's clearly still plenty of money being spent on professional services. I'm curious to know: are you trying more DIY products now than you did in the past?

Models Loved The Skin Care at Chris Benz

While some fashion shows definitely need sponsorship to happen, sometimes it can be a little overwhelming to take it all in. (Seriously, even shipping services are branded.) But other times, a sponsorship is a no-duh perfect fit. At Chris Benz's presentation, Team Clarisonic was preparing models' skin before they headed into makeup. Time is of the essence before a show, and the method shipped them off to the makeup chair quickly and efficiently. The models seemed to get a kick out of the sonic cleansing, though many of them looked too young to have ever experienced a blemish in their lives - and for one crabby model, it was clearly not enough to keep her from causing drama.

I believe Chris Benz when he calls the gadget "delightful." Sure, they're helping him with the show, but not even dreamy designers are immune to the sonic charms. Truth be told, this was the first backstage space I've seen where the skin care was getting decent, well, buzz.
