Cult Favorite: Nars Blush in Orgasm

Since this week is super blush-centric, I thought I'd pay tribute to the queen of all blushers: Nars Cosmetics Blush in Orgasm ($25). When it first launched, girls giggled then oohed and aahed over the sexy name. In time, product sales shot to the moon and the lengthy wait lists became no laughing matter - attaining Orgasm was nearly impossible! Luckily, production came through and now there's enough Orgasm to go around.

This blush has the largest following I have ever seen. It's a shimmery pinky-peach shade, typically reserved for those with olive skin tones. However, this particular color has a special je ne sais quoi that makes it universally flattering.

Rachel Comey showed us her sophisticated side for Fall '12, streamlining her usual quirk factor with a modern, refreshing twist. "Normally for Fall we dive into print and pattern and color," said Comey. "This time, I pulled all of that out and cleared the air." With that in mind, the designer showcased laser-cut cotton dresses and wool felt tops, digital-print knee-length skirts, pretty prints, and shiny boxy leather tops. Color pops included an oversized bright orange coat and dress and even a heart-print dress doused in hot pink. Comey's shoes, a cult favorite amongst many, included quirky-cool black-and-white cap-toe loafers, flatforms, and chunky ankle boots. To finish, Comey closed out the show with an array of cocktail-appropriate black dresses, ranging from a simple, slinky halter-neck LBD to a shimmering full-skirted version. The Detox Market Opens Its Doors in San Francisco

There are endless "natural" beauty and health brands out there making claims, and sometimes it feels like a second job just wading through all the information. Which is why The Detox Market is a great idea. The store's concept is simple: the founders curate one exemplary natural product in each beauty category (a sole lipstick, the best sunscreen, etc.) and sell everything in an uncluttered boutique. So instead of walking in and being overwhelmed by inconsistent labeling and hundreds of ingredient lists, you get a single high quality, prescreened option.

There are already two Detox Market locations in LA, but northern California just got its first, at 969 Valencia Street in San Francisco's Mission neighborhood. We paid a visit intending just to have a chat and a look around, but ended up buying half the store. As it turns out, most of the beauty selection includes stuff we already love or have been dying to try. They even carry some longtime Bella favorites, including sunscreen obsession, Suntegrity, and they were the first place we've seen actually carrying cult favorite Ilia lipstick, which we now can't stop applying. It might not be the store for people who love overwhelming variety, but for us, it made buying natural beauty fun again.

Virgin America Brings a Breath of Fresh Airline to Philadelphia
