Ellen was adorable, Pamela was refreshingly honest about how much of the price of high-end perfume comes from expensive advertising, and her descriptions of her fragrances makes this clip well worth watching.

Ellen DeGeneres is one of my favorite comedians, and this monologue is too funny not to share. It's about one of womanity's common bewildering experiences - polish selection during a manicure. Ellen's right about the surfeit of polish colors, and I've poked fun at some ridiculous names in my quizzes. I'm pretty tickled that she covered this, and that she didn't actually drink the Dry Martini.

Last night at the VH1's Divas Live concert, Paula Abdul made an homage to Ellen DeGeneres by dressing up as her and doing some of her signature dance moves on stage. She got pretty detailed with the look, even putting in blue contact lenses. We've made the comparison of other celebrities that look alike, such as Katherine Heigl and Ashley Judd; and there's even lots of stars with lookalike sisters. But when it comes to Paula's take on Ellen, how good do you think her makeup and (fake) hair were, though? Did the makeup artists actually make her look like Ellen, or did it fall a little short?

It was all kind of hush, hush at first and the rumors were swirling like crazy. No, I'm not talking about Heidi and Spencer's big nuptials. I'm talking about the Ellen DeGeneres' CoverGirl deal. And when the news was finally confirmed, it got people talking.

In a forward thinking move, the 50-year-old company paired up with a 50-year-old woman, making the comedic lady its spokesperson. It's so refreshing to see the drugstore cosmetics giant take steps towards showing that beauty comes in all types and ages, for that matter. Kudos, CoverGirl, for your modern take on the beauty biz.

Beginning in January, newlywed Ellen DeGeneres will appear in CoverGirl ads. In an official statement released today, a company spokesperson said, "Her beauty and down-to-earth personality fit perfectly with what CoverGirl represents." Ellen's low-key appeal may make her a much more modern and relatable CoverGirl than, say, Christie Brinkley. What do you think of this surprising pairing?
