Love It or Hate It? Ellen Page's MTV Movie Awards Look

I know some of you didn't like Ellen Page's Oscar hair and makeup, saying that it didn't fit her personality. The same can't be said of this easygoing-but-pretty look at the MTV Movie Awards. Black eyeliner and a nearly nude lip prove that you don't have to cake on a ton of makeup to look good. Do you agree, or do you wish she'd done more?

Ellen Page's Oscars Look: Love It or Hate It?

Compared to yesterday's Spirit Awards look, Ellen Page is a total glamour queen at the Oscars. I like how her updo has an easy feel to it, and her makeup is appropriately amped-up for this high-profile event. Even though she doesn't normally get this fancy, Ellen shows that she's able to dress up or dress down. What do you think of her look?

Okay, can we just talk about Ellen Page's cuteness for a second? I love how she keeps her style true to herself - she's definitely not a cookie-cutter starlet. Check out her black eyeliner and rosy lipstick. It's appropriate for an awards show, but it isn't out of character for this low-key lass. Maybe this is a sneak peek of what she'll do for the Oscars tomorrow. Think it works for her?

So far, this week has been very busy for young up-and-coming-star Ellen Page. On Saturday evening she came to the Producers Guild Awards wearing an emerald green cocktail dress with her hair swept into a loose updo. Yesterday she attended a Oscar-nominee luncheon with her hair down and wore more casual clothing. For both of these big-time Hollywood events, her makeup looks similar and not too overdone, which I really like seeing on such a young woman. Tell me, do you think Ellen looks better with her hair up or down?

Ellen Page captured our hearts in Juno, and here on the red carpet she looks perfectly pretty, and best of all, absolutely age-appropriate. Her simple, elegant hairstyle is complemented by clean, minimal makeup. And boy do I want to borrow that shade of lipstick! What do you think: Too simple for a big awards show, or just right for this 20-year-old?

Whose Updo Do You Like Best at the Gotham Awards?

I love how New York events can be either over-the-top glamorous or totally fuss-free. Out of these four ladies, whose updo you do think looks the best?

Trend Alert: Absentee Eye Shadow at the MTV Movie Awards

The beauty looks at the MTV Movie Awards last night were all similar. We saw lots of black-lined eyes, nude lips, and subdued cheeks. It's a very pretty look, but nothing that got my heart pounding. Something I did notice was the lack of eye shadow on the red carpet on Megan Fox, Ellen Page, and Liv Tyler.

Lauren Conrad was almost added to this list, but I took out my magnifying glass and spied a hint of taupe crease shadow and a little shimmer below the brow bone. What are your thoughts on eye shadow for dressy events? Do you wear a little, a lot or, skip it altogether?
